Technical Sales Engineer Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technical sales engineer in Georgia?
Most technical sales engineer roles in Georgia require a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, computer science, or a directly related technical field, combined with customer-facing or applications experience. Georgia does not require a state-issued license specific to technical sales engineering, but candidates who hold a Professional Engineer license from the Georgia State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors gain a competitive edge for roles involving certified design review or regulated industries such as utilities and construction.
How much do technical sales engineers make in Georgia?
Technical sales engineers in Georgia earn a median of about $98,840 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,580 for the lowest 10% to over $159,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical sales engineers in Georgia?
Employers hiring technical sales engineers in Georgia right now include Gulfstream Aerospace, RSM, and WSP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, logistics firms, and advanced manufacturing plants means hiring tends to be consistent across both enterprise technology and industrial equipment sectors.
Which Georgia cities have the most technical sales engineer jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Bowdon have the most technical sales engineer openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to its density of technology company headquarters, enterprise software firms, and Fortune 500 regional offices, while Savannah's growth reflects its booming port logistics and automotive manufacturing corridor, and Peachtree City draws openings from the aerospace and industrial manufacturing facilities concentrated along the Interstate 85 south corridor.
Are there remote technical sales engineer jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than many technical roles, since a meaningful share of the work involves virtual demos, video-based discovery calls, and digital proposal delivery. About 27% of technical sales engineer openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's sales-cycle flexibility. The portions most likely to remain remote are pre-sales qualification, product demonstrations, and proposal preparation, while on-site client visits and equipment commissioning typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a technical sales engineer in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a technical applications support or sales development representative role at a Georgia-based manufacturer or technology firm, where you build product knowledge while learning customer engagement. Large Georgia employers such as Honeywell and NCR Voyix run rotational programs and associate sales engineer tracks that actively recruit recent graduates with engineering or computer science degrees. Earning a Salesforce Administrator credential or completing a STEM-focused internship at one of Georgia's university-affiliated research parks, such as Georgia Tech's Advanced Technology Development Center, also strengthens early applications.
Where can I find and apply to technical sales engineer jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to technical sales engineer jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings from employers across the state's technology, manufacturing, and logistics sectors. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target market, and apply directly to each employer without any additional signup required.
