Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Growth Marketing leads paid media, emerging channels, and growth initiatives across TaxSlayer Consumer and TaxSlayer Pro. This role develops and executes growth strategies that drive customer acquisition and business performance while improving measurement, reporting, and marketing effectiveness. The position works cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to optimize marketing investments, evaluate new opportunities, and support long-term business growth.
Core Responsibilities
Growth and Channel Strategy
Develop integrated growth strategies across TaxSlayer Consumer brands and TaxSlayer Pro.
- Lead strategy and performance oversight for paid media, including paid social, display, YouTube, demand generation, influencer, and UGC.
- Evaluate emerging channels, including community-based and platform-specific opportunities.
- Translate priorities into channel plans, investment recommendations, test roadmaps, and measurable objectives.
- Balance near-term acquisition performance with longer-term channel development and brand-building.
Media Investment and Performance Management
- Lead budget planning, allocation, pacing, forecasting, and performance visibility for growth channels.
- Evaluate channel and partner performance using acquisition, incrementality, profitability, and strategic-value signals.
- Recommend investment changes based on performance, priorities, and portfolio tradeoffs.
- Ensure that creative, audience, landing- age, and measurement requirements are aligned before launch.
Affiliate Marketing
- Lead affiliate marketing strategy, planning, economics, and performance management.
- Manage affiliate publisher relationships, commission structures, promotional terms, and program governance.
- Set affiliate program objectives, measurement frameworks, and operating expectations.
- Monitor affiliate performance, publisher mix, compliance, and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve affiliate efficiency, incrementality, and contribution to acquisition goals.
Measurement, Analytics, and Marketing Technology
- Partner with Analytics, Marketing Operations, Product, Engineering, and vendors to strengthen reporting, attribution, and decision confidence.
- Define measurement plans for campaigns, channels, partners, and growth experiments.
- Oversee marketing tags, pixels, data-layer requirements, and related measurement infrastructure.
- Support reporting visibility and data governance through Atlan and internal analytics systems.
- Manage external analytics and measurement partners.
- Identify measurement gaps and drive cross-functional resolution.
Agency and Partner Orchestration
- Serve as the senior day-to-day leader for agencies and specialized marketing partners.
- Set scopes, deliverables, expectations, decision rights, and accountability across the partner ecosystem.
- Determine which capabilities should remain internal versus agency-supported.
- Ensure partners operate as integrated extensions of the marketing organization.
- Coordinate briefs, approvals, optimization priorities, reporting, and business reviews.
- Push partners toward proactive ideas, channel insights, and measurable business contribution.
Creative and Campaign Enablement
- Partner with Brand, Creative, Content, Product Marketing, and channel owners to turn growth opportunities into effective campaign concepts and assets.
- Manage creative requirements across paid media, affiliate, influencer, UGC, and emerging channels.
- Improve briefing, asset development, testing, approvals, and iteration.
- Build a creative testing agenda tied to audience insight and channel performance.
- Coordinate influencer and creator approvals with brand, legal, and compliance stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with Brand, Creative, Marketing Operations, Analytics, Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Sales, and business-unit leaders.
- Create clarity around ownership, priorities, dependencies, timelines, and decisions.
- Represent growth marketing in planning, launch readiness, budget discussions, and operating reviews.
- Communicate complex channel and performance topics in a clear, executive-ready manner.
- Achievement of customer acquisition and growth targets across assigned business lines.
- Effective management and optimization of growth marketing budgets to maximize return on investment.
- Improvement in channel performance, affiliate program contribution, and overall marketing efficiency.
- Successful implementation and adoption of measurement, attribution, and reporting enhancements.
- Strong agency and partner performance aligned with business objectives.
- Delivery of actionable insights that support marketing and organizational decision-making.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder satisfaction
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Significant experience in growth marketing, digital marketing, integrated media, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing multiple paid media or customer-acquisition channels.
- Strong knowledge of media planning, optimization, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Experience with affiliate programs, partnerships, influencer programs, or adjacent growth channels.
- Experience managing agencies, vendors, platforms, or external partners.
- Working knowledge of measurement, attribution, tagging, pixels, data layers, and reporting environments.
- Ability to connect channel activity to business, customer, and financial outcomes.
- Strong project leadership, operating discipline, and executive communication skills.
- Practical fluency with AI-enabled marketing tools and workflows.
- Ability to operate in a seasonal, deadline-driven, cross-functional environment.
- Experience across multiple brands, products, or business lines preferred.
- Experience in tax, financial services, fintech, e-commerce, subscription, or another performance-oriented category preferred.
- Experience launching new brands, products, channels, or acquisition programs preferred.
- Familiarity with incrementality testing, experimentation, segmentation, and attribution preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop junior talent and influence peers without relying solely on authority preferred.
- Evidence of increasing leadership responsibility and potential to grow into a director-level role preferred.
