Business Development Executive Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development executive in Georgia?
Business development executive roles in Georgia require no state-issued license, so the path runs through education and experience. Most employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Candidates typically advance by building a record in sales, account management, or marketing roles, then moving into business development positions. Georgia's strong technology and logistics sectors reward candidates who combine industry knowledge with demonstrable client acquisition skills and familiarity with enterprise sales cycles.
How much do business development executives make in Georgia?
Business development executives in Georgia earn a median of about $98,840 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,580 for the lowest 10% to over $159,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business development executives in Georgia?
Employers hiring business development executives in Georgia right now include Genpact, Verifone, and YA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, logistics companies, and fast-growing technology firms creates consistent demand for business development professionals at all seniority levels.
Which Georgia cities have the most business development executive jobs?
The cities with the most business development executive openings in Georgia are Atlanta, Tucker, and Marietta. Atlanta dominates due to its density of corporate headquarters, technology companies, and professional services firms, while Savannah's growing port-driven logistics sector and Augusta's expanding healthcare and cybersecurity industries generate meaningful openings in those markets.
Are there remote business development executive jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles, since strategy and pipeline development work translates well to remote settings. About 60% of business development executive openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how often these roles rely on video calls and digital tools rather than daily in-office presence. The most remote-friendly positions tend to be in enterprise software, SaaS, and technology partnerships.
How can I get hired as a business development executive in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a business development representative or inside sales role at one of Georgia's large technology or logistics employers, which regularly hire candidates without extensive experience. Companies in Atlanta's Midtown and Buckhead corridors often run structured sales development programs that feed into executive tracks. A bachelor's degree in business or marketing, a completed internship with a Georgia-based company, and demonstrated competency in CRM tools significantly improve a candidate's standing against more experienced applicants.
