Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a quantitative field, paired with hands-on experience in paid channels or analytics. Virginia's technology-heavy Northern Virginia market and Richmond's financial services sector place additional weight on data fluency, so candidates who build proficiency in analytics platforms and can demonstrate measurable campaign outcomes tend to move through hiring pipelines faster.
How much do growth marketing specialists make in Virginia?
Growth marketing specialists in Virginia earn a median of about $76,980 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $40,100 for the lowest 10% to over $153,300 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire growth marketing specialists in Virginia?
Employers hiring growth marketing specialists in Virginia right now include MongoDB, Casper, and Hilton, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Which Virginia cities have the most growth marketing specialist jobs?
Arlington, Tysons Corner, and McLean have the highest concentration of growth marketing specialist openings in Virginia. Northern Virginia drives the largest share of listings because of its dense cluster of technology firms, government contractors, and financial services companies headquartered in and around the D.C. suburbs, while Richmond contributes steady demand from its established financial services and healthcare organizations.
Are there remote growth marketing specialist jobs in Virginia?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 80% of growth marketing specialist openings tied to Virginia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how naturally the work translates to distributed teams. The most remote-friendly parts of the role are performance analysis, campaign management, and content strategy, while cross-functional product launches and in-person client work tend to pull specialists back on-site.

The most realistic entry path is a marketing coordinator or digital marketing associate role at one of Virginia's larger technology companies or financial services firms, which regularly bring on junior candidates and provide structured exposure to paid channels and analytics tools. Employers in Northern Virginia's contractor corridor and Richmond's banking sector often consider candidates who can show a project portfolio, certifications in Google Ads or Meta Blueprint, and lateral experience from adjacent roles such as marketing analyst, content coordinator, or sales development representative.
