Technical Sales Engineer Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technical sales engineer in Florida?
Most Florida employers require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or a closely related applied science field. Florida does not mandate a state-issued license specifically for technical sales engineers, but roles in medical devices or certain regulated industries may require product-specific certifications. Building hands-on technical knowledge in a target industry, such as aerospace or life sciences, combined with formal sales training, is the most direct path into the role.
How much do technical sales engineers make in Florida?
Technical sales engineers in Florida earn a median of about $125,530 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $73,210 for the lowest 10% to over $206,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical sales engineers in Florida?
Employers hiring technical sales engineers in Florida right now include Baxter & Woodman, Siemens Energy, and Keith, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of aerospace, defense, and medical device manufacturers means many of these employers are seeking engineers who can sell to highly technical procurement teams.
Which Florida cities have the most technical sales engineer jobs?
Orlando, Miami, and West Palm Beach account for the most technical sales engineer openings in Florida. Miami draws demand from Latin American trade and life sciences distributors, Tampa is anchored by manufacturing and financial technology firms, and Orlando's aerospace and simulation industry cluster supports a steady pipeline of field and inside technical sales roles.
Are there remote technical sales engineer jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based roles because technical sales engineers frequently travel to customer sites for demonstrations and product support. About 59% of technical sales engineer openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the hands-on nature of the work. Inside sales and pre-sales solution engineering positions within software and cloud infrastructure tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a technical sales engineer in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from an engineering or technical support role into a sales overlay or junior applications engineer position. Florida employers in aerospace and medical devices, including large manufacturers along the I-4 corridor and around the Space Coast, regularly bring on associate field engineers and applications engineers with strong technical foundations but limited sales history. A relevant engineering degree, a Florida-based internship in a technical customer-facing role, or a CompTIA or industry-specific product certification can meaningfully strengthen your candidacy.
Where can I find and apply to technical sales engineer jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to technical sales engineer jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that interest you.
