TCI Supply ships hard-to-find industrial controls to factories and buildings all over the world, and has since 1982. We are a family business on pace for our best year ever, and we are hiring the next member of our sales team at the ground floor.
This is not an admin job with a sales title. You will spend your days inside live deals: logging them, building the quotes and invoices behind them, answering the customer questions that keep them moving, and, once you have earned it, picking up the phone to open new doors at plants we already serve. The written path ends at Account Executive, and we will show you the criteria on day one.
What you will do
- Run the morning email triage with our CEO, sorting live orders, quote requests and customer questions for the sales team
- Keep the CRM (HubSpot) true: every quote request becomes a logged deal, every loss gets a reason
- Build estimates and invoices in QuickBooks for four account executives
- Own the routine customer requests end to end: ship dates, invoice copies, certificates of origin, spec sheets, tracking
- From month six or so: call new locations of customers we already serve, introduce TCI, and start pipelines of your own
What we are looking for
- A recent college graduate (or equivalent) who wants a sales career, not a holding pattern
- Written communication sharp enough that customers cannot tell your emails from the CEO's
- Attention to detail: you notice the misspelled part number, and margin math does not scare you
- Comfortable on the phone with strangers, professional under a heated customer, quick to switch gears
- You have touched a CRM and know what one is for; QuickBooks exposure is a plus, curiosity is required
- Organized under a flow of small urgent tasks; you break big things into small ones and finish them
- Competitive. You like to win and you show up, for yourself and the team
Bonus points
- Any sales, procurement, bookkeeping or customer-facing work, including part-time and campus jobs
- A second language (Spanish or French a plus)
- You know what a PLC, a solenoid valve or a VFD is, or you are the kind of person who will find out tonight
TCI is an equal opportunity employer.
