Industrial Sales Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a industrial sales manager in Texas?
Most industrial sales manager roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, or business, combined with field sales experience in a relevant sector such as oil and gas equipment, automation, or manufacturing. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers across Houston's energy corridor and the Dallas-Fort Worth industrial belt typically promote from within or hire candidates who have held territory or account manager roles in adjacent technical fields.
How much do industrial sales managers make in Texas?
Industrial sales managers in Texas earn a median of about $136,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,750 for the lowest 10% to over $268,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire industrial sales managers in Texas?
Employers hiring industrial sales managers in Texas right now include ABM Industries, Shermco Industries, and ABM Industries, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy infrastructure, petrochemical plants, and advanced manufacturing facilities keeps demand for industrial sales talent consistently high across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most industrial sales manager jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most industrial sales manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its role as the global hub for energy equipment and petrochemical supply chains, while Dallas-Fort Worth draws hiring from large manufacturing and distribution headquarters, and San Antonio supports a growing industrial and defense manufacturing base that sustains steady demand.
Are there remote industrial sales manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're limited. Industrial sales manager work is largely field-based, requiring on-site customer visits, equipment demonstrations, and hands-on territory management. About 4% of industrial sales manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those roles tend to concentrate in inside sales or key account management functions that can be handled primarily by phone and video.
How can I get hired as a industrial sales manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or applications engineer role at a Texas industrial distributor or manufacturer, where you build product knowledge and customer relationships before moving into field sales management. Large Texas-based distributors and manufacturers often run rotational or associate sales programs designed for recent graduates. A technical degree in engineering or industrial technology, or an EIT designation, gives candidates a meaningful edge when targeting Houston energy corridor or DFW manufacturing employers.
Where can I find and apply to industrial sales manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to industrial sales manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
