Presales Solution Architect Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a presales solution architect in Texas?
Most presales solution architects in Texas enter the role from a technical background in systems engineering, network administration, or software development, then move into customer-facing sales support. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers typically look for a bachelor's degree in a technical field alongside hands-on product or platform experience. Earning vendor certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Solutions Expert significantly strengthens a candidate's profile with Texas hiring teams.
How much do presales solution architects make in Texas?
Presales solution architects in Texas earn a median of about $130,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $78,730 for the lowest 10% to over $201,850 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire presales solution architects in Texas?
Employers hiring presales solution architects in Texas right now include Molex, Databricks, and EY, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's dense concentration of enterprise technology headquarters and regional sales offices in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin metro areas means consistent openings at both large vendors and fast-growing SaaS companies.
Which Texas cities have the most presales solution architect jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Houston account for the most presales solution architect openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because it is home to the North American headquarters or major sales hubs of companies like Dell, AT&T, and dozens of enterprise software vendors, while Austin's technology sector and Houston's energy and healthcare enterprise market drive strong demand in those metros as well.
Are there remote presales solution architect jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most technical roles, since the work centers on virtual product demonstrations, discovery calls, and written proposals that translate well to remote settings. About 33% of presales solution architect openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how widely this role has shifted to distributed sales teams. The parts of the role most likely to remain remote are technical discovery, proposal development, and proof-of-concept design, while on-site executive presentations may still require travel.
How can I get hired as a presales solution architect in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a technical support, systems administration, or inside sales engineer role into a junior or associate presales position. Large Texas-based employers like Dell Technologies and Cisco run structured sales engineering development programs that target candidates from technical backgrounds without direct presales experience. Building a portfolio of solution design samples, earning an entry-level cloud certification, and targeting companies with formal sales engineering rotational tracks in the Dallas-Fort Worth or Austin markets gives candidates without experience a concrete foothold.
Where can I find and apply to presales solution architect jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to presales solution architect jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across the state's major hiring markets. Search the listings for roles that match your technical background and target industry, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
