Business Analyst Intern Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business analyst intern in New York?
Business analyst intern roles in New York do not require a state-issued license, so the path centers on academic credentials and skills. Most New York employers look for candidates enrolled in or recently graduated from a business, finance, economics, or information systems program. Building proficiency in Excel, SQL, and a visualization tool, then completing a relevant academic project or campus consulting club, positions you well for the competitive New York intern market.
How much do business analyst interns make in New York?
Business analyst interns in New York earn a median of about $112,250 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,900 for the lowest 10% to over $209,440 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business analyst interns in New York?
Employers hiring business analyst interns in New York right now include Blackstone, Peloton Interactive, and Alton Aviation Consultancy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of financial institutions, management consulting firms, and technology companies means intern openings appear across a wide range of industry sectors throughout the year.
Which New York cities have the most business analyst intern jobs?
New York, Getzville, and New York City have the most business analyst intern openings in New York. New York City accounts for the largest share by far, driven by its concentration of global banks, consulting firms, and technology companies, while Buffalo and Albany attract openings tied to regional financial institutions, state government agencies, and university-affiliated organizations that run structured intern programs.

Yes, and more than most fields, since business analyst work is largely desk-based and output-driven. About 17% of business analyst intern openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to distributed collaboration. Data analysis and requirements documentation tasks are the most commonly performed remotely, while stakeholder workshops and on-site team meetings tend to stay in person.
