Strategy Intern Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy intern in New York?
The concrete path into a strategy intern role in New York starts with enrollment in a business, economics, or related undergraduate or graduate program, since nearly all employers require active student status. New York has no state-issued license for strategy work, so the credential that matters most is a strong academic record combined with analytical project experience. Recruiting cycles at major New York firms typically open through on-campus programs at schools like NYU, Columbia, and Cornell.
Which companies hire strategy interns in New York?
Employers hiring strategy interns in New York right now include Whatnot, Betfair Interactive U.S., and FreshDirect, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of consulting firms, financial institutions, and large media and technology headquarters makes it one of the most varied markets in the country for strategy roles at the intern level.
Which New York cities have the most strategy intern jobs?
New York, New York City, and Bronx have the most strategy intern openings in New York. New York City drives the volume by a wide margin because the majority of consulting, banking, and media headquarters are based in Manhattan, while White Plains and other Westchester locations reflect corporate offices for consumer and healthcare firms that recruit separately from their city counterparts.
Are there remote strategy intern jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of strategy intern openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting that the analytical and presentation work at the core of the role transfers well to distributed settings. Research, modeling, and slide preparation are the tasks most commonly done remotely, while client-facing or team workshop components typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a strategy intern in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to structured summer internship programs that large New York employers run specifically for candidates without prior strategy experience, including programs at major banks, consulting firms, and media companies that recruit directly from New York-area universities. Case competition participation and independent research projects that demonstrate structured thinking can substitute for formal experience. Targeting rotational analyst programs at New York consumer or financial services firms is a strong lateral move for candidates building toward a strategy role.
Where can I find and apply to strategy intern jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to strategy intern jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to each posting without any additional steps in between.
