Care Assistant Jobs in Springfield: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a care assistant job in Springfield?
Focus your search on Springfield's two dominant hiring corridors: the Medical Mile area along National Avenue, where Cox Health and Mercy anchor a dense cluster of care employers, and the south Springfield and Battlefield Road zones where assisted living and memory care facilities concentrate. Candidates who can demonstrate CNA certification, CPR credentials, or direct experience with elderly or behavioral health populations move fastest in this market.
Which companies hire care assistants in Springfield?
Springfield care assistant roles are posted by CoxHealth, Jordan Valley Health, and Mercy and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The local market is anchored by large regional health systems, multi-site assisted living operators, and independent home health agencies serving Greene and Christian counties.
Are there remote care assistant jobs in Springfield?
Remote work is uncommon for care assistants because the role is inherently hands-on and requires physical presence with clients or residents. About 0% of care assistant openings tied to Springfield are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to involve care coordination, scheduling, or telephone triage rather than direct personal care.
How can I get a care assistant job in Springfield with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Springfield is through home health agencies and adult day programs, which regularly hire trainees and provide on-the-job orientation. Ozarks Technical Community College's short-term healthcare training programs feed directly into local employer pipelines. Applying to float or per-diem roles at Cox or Mercy affiliates is another common foothold, since large systems have more tolerance for candidates still building their clinical hours.
Which industries hire the most care assistants in Springfield?
Most care assistant openings in Springfield sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Springfield's role as the regional healthcare hub for southwest Missouri means demand is driven by the concentration of hospital systems, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies serving a wide surrounding population.
