Center Manager Jobs in Durham: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a center manager job in Durham?
The strongest path is targeting Durham's healthcare networks, university-affiliated programs, and the research and professional services firms clustered around Research Triangle Park. Employers in those sectors hire center managers regularly and often prefer candidates with direct supervisory experience in a similar setting. Familiarity with the local healthcare or academic environment and a record of managing cross-functional teams gives candidates a clear edge in Durham's market.
Which companies hire center managers in Durham?
Employers hiring center managers in Durham right now include Oak View, First Horizon Bank, and Baucom's Nursery, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Durham's mix of major health systems, research institutions, and professional services firms makes it one of the more active markets for this role in the region.
Are there remote center manager jobs in Durham?
Yes, though center manager roles are often on-site by nature since the work involves overseeing staff, facilities, and daily operations. About 14% of center manager openings tied to Durham are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the portion of roles where administrative and coordination duties can be handled off-site. In Durham, hybrid arrangements appear most often at research, technology, and administrative centers.
How can I get a center manager job in Durham with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Durham is a team lead, coordinator, or assistant manager role at one of the city's healthcare facilities, university departments, or community service organizations. Durham employers in those sectors frequently promote from within, and candidates who demonstrate scheduling, budgeting, or staff oversight experience in a related role move into center manager positions faster. Volunteering or interning with a Durham nonprofit or community center can also build the operational credibility hiring managers look for.
Which industries hire the most center managers in Durham?
Most center manager openings in Durham sit in Banking & Financial Services, Hospitality & Tourism, and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Durham's concentration of healthcare systems, research institutions, and education-linked organizations drives consistent demand for managers who can oversee complex, people-intensive operations at the site level.
