Mid Level Certified Athletic Trainer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level certified athletic trainer job?
Position your application around ownership, not just task completion. Highlight protocols you built, populations you managed independently, or situations where you made clinical decisions without direct supervision. Employers at this level want proof you can run a program, not just contribute to one. Tailor your resume to show measurable outcomes, such as return-to-play rates or injury prevention results you drove directly.
Which companies hire mid level certified athletic trainers?
Companies hiring mid level certified athletic trainers right now include Fairview Health Services, Trinity Health, and Nationwide Children's Hospital, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Employers at this level range from professional and collegiate sports programs to hospital systems, secondary schools, and occupational health providers that need practitioners who can operate with genuine autonomy.
Are there remote mid level certified athletic trainer jobs?
Yes, though most certified athletic trainer roles remain on-site given the hands-on nature of the work. About 4% of mid level certified athletic trainer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering telehealth consultation, injury documentation review, or program coordination roles that don't require direct patient contact every shift.
How do I move up to a mid level certified athletic trainer role?
Moving from entry level to mid level means building a record of independent clinical decision-making across a full competitive cycle or patient population. Focus on deepening one area of specialization, such as sport-specific rehabilitation or a particular patient demographic, and take ownership of a program element you can quantify. Employers promoting or hiring at this level look for evidence that you drove outcomes, not just followed protocols.
Which industries hire the most mid level certified athletic trainers?
Mid Level certified athletic trainer roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026.
