How do I get a certified medical assistant job in Chattanooga?
Chattanooga's strongest hiring comes from its large health system networks, independent multispecialty clinics along Gunbarrel Road, and the growing urgent care market on the North Shore and in East Ridge. Candidates who hold a current CMA credential from AAMA or RMA from AMT and have hands-on experience in clinical intake, phlebotomy, or EHR documentation stand out. Familiarity with Epic or Athena is a practical edge in this market.

The local market includes large regional health systems, physician-owned specialty practices, and federally qualified health centers serving Hamilton County.
How can I get a certified medical assistant job in Chattanooga with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chattanooga is applying to externship or new-grad roles at federally qualified health centers like Cherokee Health Systems and Erlanger's outpatient clinics, which regularly bring on candidates who have completed an accredited CMA program but lack full-time experience.
