Certified Respiratory Therapist Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a certified respiratory therapist job in Indianapolis?
Focus your search on Indianapolis's large health systems anchored downtown and along the north corridor, plus the growing community hospital networks in Hamilton County suburbs like Carmel and Noblesville. Acute care and critical care credentials give you the strongest edge locally. Networking through the Indiana Society for Respiratory Care chapter and attending Indianapolis-area clinical job fairs also helps candidates stand out in a market where most openings fill through referrals and direct applications.
Which companies hire certified respiratory therapists in Indianapolis?
Employers hiring certified respiratory therapists in Indianapolis right now include Ascension, Indiana University Health, and VieMed, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market is anchored by large academic medical centers, regional hospital systems, and long-term acute care facilities spread across the metro.
Are there remote certified respiratory therapist jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, but only for a narrow slice of the role. Certified respiratory therapy is inherently hands-on, so most positions require on-site patient care. About 0% of certified respiratory therapist openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be in telehealth respiratory monitoring, care coordination, or clinical education roles rather than direct bedside care.
How can I get a certified respiratory therapist job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is landing a new-graduate or entry-level position at one of the city's larger hospital systems, which regularly hire candidates straight out of accredited respiratory therapy programs. Community hospitals in the suburbs often post graduate-level openings with structured orientation programs. Building clinical hours through Indianapolis-area extern or internship programs, then applying to step-down or general care units, gives candidates without prior work history their best footing locally.
Which industries hire the most certified respiratory therapists in Indianapolis?
Most certified respiratory therapist openings in Indianapolis sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indianapolis's strong concentration of academic medical centers, children's hospitals, and long-term acute care facilities drives consistent demand across those sectors.
