Seeking Charge Nurse!
Baptist Health Floyd, Progressive Care Unit
Full-time (36 Hours Weekly), Nights (7pm-7am)
Benefit Eligible
Job Duties:
- Responsible for acting as a resource nurse for the department. This is an entry-level leadership position responsible for the coordination of care on designated shifts.
- Provide leadership to the staff members of the unit in the area of patient care.
- Work alongside the team and provide direct patient care while determining needed staffing fluctuations during shifts.
- Respond to departmental concerns, address immediate staff issues, and coordinate patient flow.
- Have immediate oversight of employees while performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads.
About the Unit:
The Progressive Care Unit, also known as PCU, is a 32-bed intermediate level of care unit between the Inpatient Units and the Critical Care units. While the unit specializes in cardiovascular care, nurses will encounter a variety of diagnoses, such as CHF, dysrhythmias, DKA, respiratory issues, sepsis, etc. While working closely with an interdisciplinary team, nurses provide excellent care for a high acuity-based population. PCU is a great place for nurses to cultivate and expand their assessment skills while managing several drips and other specialized procedures. New Graduate RNs and LPNs are welcome.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
- One year of nursing experience required; one year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
- Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.
