Mid Level Certified Respiratory Therapist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level certified respiratory therapist job?
Position your application around ownership and independent judgment, not just task completion. Highlight cases you managed end to end, protocols you helped implement, and moments where you made clinical calls without direct supervision. Certifications beyond the CRT credential, such as the RRT or a specialty credential in neonatal or critical care, signal readiness for mid level expectations and help your application stand out against candidates with similar time in the field.
Which companies hire mid level certified respiratory therapists?
Companies hiring mid level certified respiratory therapists right now include Banner Health, Trinity Health, and Bronson Healthcare Group, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Health systems, acute care hospitals, and specialty pulmonary centers make up the majority of employers at this level, as they need clinicians who can work across departments with minimal supervision.
Are there remote mid level certified respiratory therapist jobs?
Yes, though most respiratory therapy work is hands-on and requires a physical presence with patients. About 3% of mid level certified respiratory therapist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles tend to be in telehealth monitoring, clinical education, or care coordination rather than direct bedside practice. If flexibility matters, filter for those specific functions when searching.
How do I move up to a mid level certified respiratory therapist role?
The transition from entry level to mid level comes from accumulating clinical depth and demonstrating that you can work independently. Focus on building proficiency across a broader range of equipment and patient populations, volunteering for more complex assignments, and pursuing advanced credentials like the RRT. Clinicians who can show measurable contributions, such as improving ventilator weaning outcomes or training new staff, tend to advance into mid level roles faster.
Which industries hire the most mid level certified respiratory therapists?
Mid Level certified respiratory therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they handle high-acuity patients who require ongoing respiratory management, creating steady demand for clinicians who can operate with a degree of clinical autonomy.
