The Chief of Staff will operate as the CEO's trusted proxy, thought partner, and organizational connector, helping drive strategic initiatives, organizational alignment, and operational execution across the company. This role combines strategic execution, operational leadership, and hands-on management of the CEO's office. Exceptional candidates understand that elite executive operations require both high-level thinking and flawless execution of details.
This role is intentionally structured as a transitional executive pathway. The right candidate will immerse themselves in all facets of the business, build relationships across every division, and develop the depth of organizational knowledge needed to ultimately step into a senior executive or division leadership role within the company.
OVERVIEW:
The ideal candidate is ambitious, highly organized, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving executive environment with evolving priorities.
Be equally comfortable preparing a board briefing, leading a cross-functional initiative, or reorganizing a complex executive schedule
Thrive in environments where urgency, responsiveness, and adaptability are essential
Possess exceptional business judgment and attention to detail
Demonstrate humility and a willingness to handle both strategic and operational responsibilities
Build credibility quickly with senior leaders through preparation, follow-through, and professionalism
Be motivated by the opportunity to grow into a significant operational or executive leadership role within the company

Manage the CEO calendar with rigorous prioritization, ensuring time is allocated to the highest-value activities and business objectives
Prepare a structured daily briefing summarizing priorities, key decisions pending, time-sensitive items, and important context the CEO needs to know
Monitor and help manage CEO correspondence, drafting responses where appropriate and flagging items requiring personal attention
Coordinate CEO travel logistics, including itineraries, accommodations, transportation, and pre-meeting preparation materials
Ensure the CEO is fully prepared for meetings, presentations, board-related discussions, and external engagements with relevant background, talking points, and anticipated questions
Strategic Operations and Organizational Alignment
Track and manage the CEO's strategic priorities and key initiatives, proactively surfacing items that need attention, are at risk, or require a decision
Serve as connective tissue across leadership teams, ensuring cross-functional alignment on strategic goals, follow-through on commitments, and accountability on deliverables
Independently lead high-priority cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the CEO from planning through execution
Build and maintain systems to track strategic initiatives, accountability, deadlines, and decision-making across leadership teams
Attend senior leadership and board-related meetings on behalf of or alongside the CEO; capture action items, decisions, and follow-up commitments and drive their completion
Conduct research, analysis, and executive-level synthesis to support strategic and operational decisions
Coordinate across departments to identify bottlenecks, improve execution speed, and ensure alignment on company priorities
Identify emerging issues, organizational friction, or strategic gaps before they escalate and bring them to the CEO's attention with context and proposed solutions
Exercise sound independent judgment in prioritizing issues, escalating risks, and resolving operational matters when appropriate
Communications and Stakeholder Relations
Draft executive communications, all-hands materials, internal memos, briefing documents, and external correspondence on behalf of the CEO
Synthesize complex business discussions into concise executive summaries, clear ownership, and actionable next steps
Serve as a credible liaison between the CEO's office and all departments, including business pods, finance, operations, sales, HR, product, technology, media, and marketing
Build strong relationships with direct reports to the CEO, external partners, board members, key clients, and other important stakeholders
Facilitate and improve the flow of information within the CEO's office and across the senior leadership team
Represent the company with professionalism, discretion, and executive presence in internal and external settings
Executive Operations and Administrative Excellence
Ensure CEO's office operations run with discipline, speed, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Partner with administrative support resources when appropriate to execute scheduling, logistics, meeting coordination, and travel requirements
Create and maintain systems that improve the CEO's effectiveness, preparation, prioritization, and follow-through
Handle highly confidential and sensitive business and personal information with professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and reliability
Support meeting effectiveness by ensuring agenda clarity, preparation materials, decision logs, and follow-up actions are complete and timely
Maintain a high standard of responsiveness and precision across all CEO's office activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Chief of Staff role is one of the most demanding and rewarding positions within the company. We are seeking someone who combines strong business acumen, executive presence, operational discipline, and emotional intelligence with the ambition and potential to grow into broader enterprise leadership responsibilities over time.
Exceptionally organized; anticipates needs before they arise and ensures nothing falls through the cracks
Authoritative and credible; able to earn respect from senior leaders through preparation, poise, judgment, and follow-through
Diplomatically skilled; knows when to push, when to listen, and how to navigate complex interpersonal and organizational dynamics
Empathetic and perceptive; reads people and situations quickly and brings emotional intelligence to every interaction
Discreet and trustworthy; handles sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and the highest ethical standards
Clear and compelling communicator, both in writing and in person
Action-oriented self-starter who moves quickly, follows through relentlessly, and holds self and others accountable
Strategically minded; understands the big picture and connects day-to-day execution to long-term business goals
REQUIREMENTS:
MBA strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of leadership, operational, consulting, military, or strategic business experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive professional experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibilities
Prior experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, operations, business transformation, or a Chief of Staff / strategy role strongly preferred
Proven track record of operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment with senior leadership exposure
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write executive-level documents, briefs, presentations, and summaries
Strong project management capability with demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Ability to maintain composure, sound judgment, and effectiveness under pressure and changing priorities
Comfortable operating with urgency, responsiveness, and high accountability in a demanding executive environment
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
High proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management platforms
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Exposure to board governance, M&A processes, strategic planning cycles, or enterprise transformation initiatives
Experience managing or coordinating cross-functional teams without direct authority
AI knowledge and facility with modern AI tools to improve productivity, synthesis, communication, and execution
Experience working in a founder-led, private company, high-growth, media, technology, data, or business services environment
WHAT SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE:
The CEO operates with greater leverage, focus, and organizational visibility
Strategic initiatives move faster with clearer accountability and stronger execution discipline
Leadership teams remain aligned on priorities, timelines, decisions, and follow-through commitments
Communication and decision-making across the executive team become more effective and streamlined
The Chief of Staff develops into a trusted enterprise leader capable of taking on increasing operational and leadership responsibility
CAREER PATH:
This role is explicitly designed as an executive development pathway. Upon successful completion of a defined tenure as Chief of Staff, typically 18 to 36 months, the expectation is that the individual will transition into a senior leadership position within the company, potentially as a division head, VP of Operations, or equivalent executive role.
The Chief of Staff will gain broad exposure to the business, participate in high-level strategic and operational decision-making, and develop the credibility and relationships needed to lead at an executive level.
FINAL NOTE:
This role is intentionally designed as a high-impact executive development position for someone who wants meaningful exposure to enterprise leadership and the opportunity to eventually lead a significant part of the business.
While certain responsibilities involve direct management of executive office operations, this is fundamentally a strategic and operational leadership role focused on execution, coordination, prioritization, and organizational effectiveness.
The right candidate will understand that no responsibility is too small when supporting the effectiveness of the CEO and the success of the organization. Candidates seeking a traditional executive assistant role without broader operational ownership and leadership aspirations will not be the right fit.
This individual will be expected to operate with maturity, professionalism, discretion, responsiveness, and strong business judgment while building trust across every level of the organization.
