Entry Level Chief Architect Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level chief architect job?
Entry level chief architect roles favor candidates who can show applied work, not just a degree. A portfolio demonstrating design projects, technical drawings, or software proficiency gives you a real edge. Employers at this level look for foundational knowledge of architectural systems, attention to detail, and the ability to support senior architects. Internship experience, even short-term, signals you can function in a professional environment.
Which companies hire entry level chief architects?
Companies hiring entry level chief architects right now include US Department of Veterans Affairs, Marriott International, and Highgate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of architecture and design firms, construction companies, technology companies building infrastructure teams, and larger enterprises with in-house design functions.
Are there remote entry level chief architect jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles still dominate at the entry level. About 2% of entry level chief architect openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, giving early-career candidates flexibility in how and where they start. Remote openings tend to favor candidates who can demonstrate self-direction and strong communication through their portfolio or prior project work.
Are these new grad chief architect jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad and junior roles that welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically notes that zero to two years of experience is acceptable, or explicitly invites applications from recent graduates. Internship credits and a portfolio of academic or personal projects can substitute for a formal work history at this stage.
Which industries hire the most entry level chief architects?
Entry Level chief architect roles concentrate in Hospitality & Tourism, Technology & Software, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive entry level hiring because they maintain active design, construction, or systems-planning functions that need junior talent to support senior architects and project teams.
