Jr Civil Engineer – EIT
Overview
We are seeking a Junior Civil Engineer holding a Pennsylvania EIT certification and 2–5 years of civil engineering preferred. This position is primarily responsible for designing bridge deck overhang systems and preparing material take-offs and estimates for contractors bidding projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design bridge deck overhang bracket systems for contractors’ projects
- Review structure drawings and specifications to gather design information, including beam type, overhang dimensions, and deck concrete thickness
- Determine all loads that will be applied to the overhang
- Perform material take-offs and estimates from project drawings and specifications to support accurate material quotes for contractors bidding projects
- Coordinate with engineering and design staff to meet project schedules and budgets
- Maintain client contact on technical and project matters
Qualifications
- BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Pennsylvania EIT certification
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
- Highway and bridge design experience preferred
- Familiarity with PennDOT design standards preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, in person
Reports to: General Manager
The Company will pay for the successful candidate to obtain a Professional Engineer license.
