Clinical Data Management Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical data management in Hawaii?
Hawaii does not require a state-issued license specifically for clinical data management professionals, so entry into the field follows an education and certification path. Most employers in Hawaii require at least a bachelor's degree in life sciences, health informatics, biostatistics, or a related discipline. Earning a certification such as the Certified Clinical Data Manager credential offered by the Society for Clinical Data Management strengthens a candidate's profile considerably and is recognized by Hawaii's major research and hospital employers.
Which companies hire clinical data managements in Hawaii?
Employers hiring clinical data managements in Hawaii right now include First Hawaiian Bank, Booz Allen Hamilton, and MC&A Destination Management Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's clinical research sector is anchored by its major hospital systems, federally affiliated medical centers, and university research programs, which collectively generate the steadiest demand for clinical data management talent on the islands.
Which Hawaii cities have the most clinical data management jobs?
Honolulu, Ford Island, and Hawaii account for the largest share of clinical data management openings in Hawaii. Honolulu dominates the distribution because it is home to Hawaii's largest hospital networks, federally supported research centers, and the University of Hawaii's health science programs, while Hilo and Kapolei draw openings from regional medical facilities and government-affiliated clinical operations.
Are there remote clinical data management jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, and more than most healthcare roles, because clinical data management is fundamentally an analytical and systems-based function that does not require physical presence with patients. About 36% of clinical data management openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the role adapts to distributed work. Database management, data validation, and regulatory submission tasks are the functions most frequently performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a clinical data management in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a clinical research coordinator or data entry associate role at one of Hawaii's hospital systems or university research programs, which routinely hire candidates with a relevant degree but limited direct data management experience. The University of Hawaii at Manoa's Office of Research Services and Queen's Medical Center both support clinical trials that occasionally bring on junior coordinators. Building proficiency in a major clinical data management platform and completing a CDISC fundamentals course will accelerate hiring decisions considerably.
Where can I find and apply to clinical data management jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to clinical data management jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the islands. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
