Clinical Research Associate Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a clinical research associate job in Indianapolis?
Focus your search on Indianapolis's contract research organizations, the pharmaceutical companies clustered along North Meridian Street, and the academic medical centers tied to Indiana University Health and IU School of Medicine. Candidates with GCP certification, site management experience, and familiarity with oncology or cardiovascular trials stand out in this market. Networking through local ACRP chapter events and targeting CRA I roles at mid-size CROs is one of the most direct entry paths available here.
Which companies hire clinical research associates in Indianapolis?
Companies currently hiring clinical research associates in Indianapolis include Eli Lilly, Indiana University, and American Oncology Network, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indianapolis draws a mix of global CROs, regional pharma sponsors, and hospital-based research departments, reflecting the city's deep life-sciences infrastructure.
Are there remote clinical research associate jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on role type since site-facing CRA work requires in-person visits. About 50% of clinical research associate openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote options most common for data review, regulatory document management, and sponsor-side study management positions rather than hands-on site monitoring roles.
How can I get a clinical research associate job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is targeting CRA I or clinical research coordinator roles at the CROs and academic medical center research departments that regularly hire entry-level candidates. IU Health and its affiliated research units often bring on coordinators who can grow into CRA positions, and local CROs sometimes hire candidates with strong clinical backgrounds and GCP training. Building site experience in a coordinator role first is the standard bridge here.
Which industries hire the most clinical research associates in Indianapolis?
Most clinical research associate openings in Indianapolis sit in Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indianapolis's status as a hub for large academic medical systems and established CRO regional offices drives consistent demand across those sectors.
