Community Engagement Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a community engagement manager in Florida?
Most community engagement manager roles in Florida require a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, social work, public administration, or a related field, and several years of direct community outreach or stakeholder relations experience. Florida does not issue a state license specifically for this role, but candidates working in healthcare settings may benefit from familiarity with Florida Department of Health community health frameworks, while those in nonprofit roles often strengthen their candidacy with a Certified Nonprofit Professional credential.
How much do community engagement managers make in Florida?
Community engagement managers in Florida earn a median of about $127,550 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $73,050 for the lowest 10% to over $215,050 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire community engagement managers in Florida?
Employers hiring community engagement managers in Florida right now include Special Olympics Florida, Women's Care, and Autism Speaks, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's large healthcare networks, public universities, municipal governments, and statewide nonprofit organizations are among the most consistent sources of openings for this role.
Which Florida cities have the most community engagement manager jobs?
Tallahassee, Fort Lauderdale, and Largo have the most community engagement manager openings in Florida. Miami and Orlando generate the highest volume driven by their large nonprofit sectors, healthcare systems, and municipal outreach programs, while Tampa's concentration of corporate headquarters and regional hospital networks adds a steady stream of private-sector and healthcare-focused positions.
Are there remote community engagement manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since the role typically involves in-person events, community meetings, and relationship building. About 14% of community engagement manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with the most remote-eligible work concentrated in grant writing, digital communications strategy, and program reporting functions.
How can I get hired as a community engagement manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a community outreach coordinator, program associate, or communications assistant at a Florida nonprofit, hospital system, or local government agency, then building toward a manager title. Large Florida employers like AdventHealth and the University of Florida system run community health and public affairs programs that regularly bring on entry-level staff. Completing AmeriCorps service in Florida, volunteering with county health departments, or earning a Certified Nonprofit Professional credential each provide a concrete edge when competing against candidates with more direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to community engagement manager jobs in Florida?
