Understand the Public Sector Hiring Timeline
Government and public sector organizations like Advocates often have longer hiring cycles than private employers. Start your job search early, especially if you're on OPT, to leave enough runway for sponsorship processing before your work authorization expires.

Confirm Sponsorship Willingness Before Applying
Not every role at Advocates will be eligible for sponsorship. Before applying, reach out to the hiring team or recruiter to confirm whether the specific position has been approved for H-1B or OPT sponsorship. This saves time on both sides.
Search for Verified Sponsoring Employers Early
Finding public sector employers with a real sponsorship track record takes research. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on organizations like Advocates that have demonstrated willingness to sponsor international candidates.
Leverage OPT to Build Familiarity With the Organization
