Frame your experience around fintech systems
Affirm's Business Systems Analyst roles sit at the intersection of lending operations and internal tooling. Tailor your resume to show experience with financial workflows, ERP systems, or payment platforms rather than generic business analysis projects.
Confirm OPT authorization before your start date
F-1 students joining Affirm on OPT need their EAD in hand before their first day. USCIS recommends applying 90 days before your program end date to avoid gaps between graduation and authorization.
Target roles that cross engineering and operations
Affirm frequently opens Business Systems Analyst positions that require working with both product and engineering teams. These cross-functional roles are more likely to involve H-1B sponsorship than analyst positions scoped to a single business unit.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Affirm openings by visa type
Not every Business Systems Analyst listing at Affirm will state sponsorship eligibility upfront. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles at Affirm filtered by the specific visa types you need, saving you from applying to positions that won't move forward.
Engage Affirm's recruiter early about H-1B timing
If you're targeting an H-1B cap filing, the USCIS registration window opens in March for an October 1 start. Raise your visa timeline with your Affirm recruiter during early-stage interviews so offer timing can be planned around the lottery.
Understand how TN status applies to this role
Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status in the Management Consultant or Economist category, depending on how the Business Systems Analyst role is scoped. Confirm with Affirm's HR team whether the specific job description supports a TN classification before accepting an offer.

Find Business Systems Analyst at Affirm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Affirm sponsor H-1B visas for Business Systems Analysts?
Yes, Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for Business Systems Analyst roles. The company has a consistent track record of sponsoring international candidates across its operations and technology functions. If you're in the H-1B lottery cycle, discuss your timeline with Affirm's recruiter early in the process, since cap-subject filings must align with the March USCIS registration window and an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Business Systems Analyst jobs at Affirm?
You can apply through Affirm's careers page or use Migrate Mate to browse current Business Systems Analyst openings at Affirm filtered by your visa type. When applying, tailor your application to highlight experience with financial systems, cross-functional process design, or tools common in fintech environments. Affirm's hiring process typically involves a recruiter screen, technical case exercises, and cross-functional stakeholder interviews.
Which visa types does Affirm commonly use for Business Systems Analyst hires?
Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for this role and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role description aligns with a qualifying TN category. For longer-term permanent residence, Affirm has filed EB-2 and EB-3 labor certifications through the PERM process for business and operations roles.
What qualifications does Affirm expect for Business Systems Analyst roles?
Affirm typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, computer science, or a related field, along with hands-on experience mapping and improving operational workflows. Familiarity with SQL, data analysis tools, or internal systems like Salesforce or Jira is commonly expected. Roles that sit closer to the engineering org may also require experience writing product requirements or working in agile environments.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Affirm to file my H-1B petition?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March, and approved petitions take effect October 1. That means if you receive an offer from Affirm outside that window, you may need to bridge on OPT or another status until the next cap cycle. Raise this with Affirm's HR team before signing your offer so both sides can plan around the USCIS filing calendar rather than discovering the conflict at onboarding.
