Job Description
🌍 We’re making security suck less for developers. Security tools haven’t kept up with how software is built today. They interrupt teams, slow releases, and turn security into a bottleneck instead of a capability. We built Aikido to change that. Aikido builds developer-first security products that reduce real risk without getting in the way of shipping software. We focus on what actually matters and automate the rest. We’re taking on legacy security tools teams have been stuck with, and we’re winning. If you want to help us take market share and build products developers actually enjoy using, you’re in the right place. Founded in 2022 by third-time founders, Aikido has $85M in the bank, a long runway ahead, and unicorn status. We’re building toward self-securing software. Join an all-star team. Take real ownership. Push boundaries. Build things that matter.
We’re looking for a hands-on Field Marketing Manager to help build Aikido’s presence across the developer and security communities. This role is focused on driving pipeline and awareness through events, community engagement, and regional campaigns. You’ll work closely with sales, partnerships, and marketing to plan and execute programs that connect Aikido with developers, security leaders, and startup teams. This is a great role for someone who enjoys owning events end-to-end, building relationships in the local tech ecosystem, and turning community engagement into real pipeline.
Must be local to Austin, TX or surrounding area
Responsibilities
Own Regional Events & Programs:
- Plan and run field marketing events including meetups, dinners, roundtables, and developer-focused gatherings
- Manage Aikido’s presence at industry conferences and security events (e.g., Black Hat, RSA, DevOps events)
- Coordinate logistics, speakers, content, and follow-up with the sales team
Drive Pipeline Through Events:
- Work closely with the sales team to create events that generate qualified pipeline
- Support account-based marketing campaigns in key territories
- Track event performance and ensure strong follow-up and conversion
Build Community in the Developer Ecosystem:
- Partner with developer communities, startup hubs, and security meetups
- Identify opportunities to get Aikido in front of developers and security teams
- Support developer advocates and partners at community events
Partner with Sales and Partnerships:
- Collaborate with Account Executives and partnerships teams to identify target accounts and opportunities
- Support partner-led events and joint campaigns with ecosystem partners
- Help create experiences that move prospects through the pipeline
Help Grow Aikido’s Brand:
- Bring Aikido’s “no-BS security” voice to events and community programs
- Work with the marketing team to turn events into content, social engagement, and brand moments
- Share feedback from the field to help shape messaging and campaigns
Job Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in field marketing, event marketing, or community marketing
- Experience supporting B2B SaaS, developer tools, or cybersecurity products
- Comfortable running events from concept to execution
- Strong collaboration with sales teams and pipeline-driven marketing programs
- Experience managing conferences, meetups, and regional marketing programs
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
Bonus If You Have
- Experience in developer tooling, DevOps, or cybersecurity
- Experience running events for technical audiences
What you can expect
- High-impact position in a fast-growing company
- Fast growth of responsibility
- A company that sticks to its values in an open and informal atmosphere (see our culture page on the website for more details)
- Flexibility in working hours
- You will be recruited based on competencies. Qualities of people are decisive, regardless of gender, religion, ethnic origin, age, sexual orientation, or any disability.

Target engineering and security research roles
Aikido Security's H-1B sponsorship has gone to technical positions, so focus your application on software engineering, security research, or product development roles where specialized skills are hardest to source domestically and sponsorship is most justified.
Highlight cybersecurity-specific expertise early
Aikido operates in a niche security space. Candidates who clearly demonstrate domain knowledge in application security, vulnerability management, or developer tooling will stand out far more than generalist engineers applying broadly.
Raise sponsorship early in the process
As a startup, Aikido Security likely has a lean HR function. Mention your visa status in your opening email or cover letter so recruiters can assess fit quickly, rather than discovering it late in a multi-stage process.
Research their product to tailor your pitch
Aikido's platform focuses on developer-friendly security scanning. Candidates who understand their product philosophy and can speak to how their background complements it signal genuine interest, which matters more at smaller companies than at large enterprises.
Verify their sponsorship history before applying
Not every tech startup sponsors visas consistently. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving you time by confirming Aikido Security's track record before you invest in an application.
Prepare for a startup-style interview process
Cybersecurity startups like Aikido often move faster and evaluate candidates more holistically than large tech firms. Expect technical assessments alongside culture-fit conversations, and be ready to discuss how you'd contribute across multiple areas of a small team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aikido Security sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Aikido Security sponsors H-1B visas. The company operates in the cybersecurity and developer tooling space, where sourcing highly specialized technical talent is competitive, and it has used H-1B sponsorship to hire qualified candidates. Sponsorship activity at Aikido is more selective than at large enterprises, so targeting roles that closely match your technical background improves your chances significantly.
Which roles at Aikido Security are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Visa sponsorship at Aikido Security is concentrated in technical roles, particularly software engineering and security-focused positions. Given their product focus on application security and developer tooling, candidates with backgrounds in backend engineering, security research, or platform development are best positioned. Non-technical roles are less likely to receive sponsorship at a company of this size and stage.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Aikido Security?
Migrate Mate is the most reliable way to find verified H-1B sponsoring employers like Aikido Security. You can filter by company, visa type, and industry to surface roles that match your background and confirm sponsorship history before applying. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering visa constraints late in the process.
What is the typical H-1B application timeline if Aikido Security sponsors me?
If Aikido Security agrees to sponsor your H-1B, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS. Standard USCIS processing can take several months, though premium processing is available for faster adjudication. Cap-subject H-1B petitions are tied to the annual lottery, so timing your job search around the registration window in March matters.
Is Aikido Security a reliable long-term sponsor for visa holders?
Aikido Security has shown willingness to sponsor H-1B visas, which is a meaningful signal for job seekers who need sponsorship. That said, sponsorship continuity at any startup depends on company growth and funding. It is worth asking directly during the interview process about their experience supporting visa holders through renewals and any plans for Green Card sponsorship if long-term U.S. residency is a goal.
