About Altruist
Altruist is transforming the multi-trillion dollar wealth management industry by building an AI platform for wealth professionals. We partner with financial advisors nationwide, empowering them to grow, optimize time and resources, and deliver superior outcomes for their clients.
We're looking for exceptional talent to help us achieve our mission of making financial advice better, more affordable, and accessible to all. If you're passionate about challenging the status quo and want to do the most important work of your life, we'd love to meet you!
But first, our values
Kindness - Kindness doesn’t just equal niceness. We listen to understand. We embrace, and encourage healthy debate and diverse perspectives. We approach conflict openly, honestly, and respectfully.
Brilliance - Humility is the skill we’re most proud of and possessing a growth mindset is always top of mind. We take ownership in everything we touch; regularly using our unique superpowers to reach a common goal as a team. We succeed and fail as one.
Grit - When challenges arise, we stay laser focused on achieving our mission and finding a way forward, even when it’s hard. We are nimble and maintain a sense of urgency, swiftly adapting to change and overcoming obstacles.
The opportunity
Altruist is building the modern infrastructure for independent financial advisors. At the center of that future is Hazel — the AI platform for financial advisors that integrates across their tech stack and transforms data into actionable outcomes. Hazel represents the most ambitious expression of our brand: intelligent, calm, precise, and deeply human. Design plays a critical role in defining what that future looks and feels like.
We’re hiring a Lead Brand Designer to lead the visual evolution of Hazel across its entire ecosystem. This is not a support role. It’s a leadership role within brand responsible for shaping how our AI product shows up across product surfaces, launches, campaigns, motion, storytelling, and emerging experiences. The ideal candidate thinks quickly, designs thoughtfully, and pushes work beyond the obvious. They bring impeccable taste, a sharp point of view, and a deep understanding of contemporary design — while also knowing when restraint is the most powerful move.
This designer will also partner closely with Product Design to influence the user experience of Hazel, ensuring brand and product feel unified and intentional. They will also collaborate with motion designers, illustrators, and cross-functional teams to bring new ideas to life across the Hazel surfaces. This role operates as a thought partner to Creative Leadership on new Hazel initiatives and long-term brand direction.
This role is hybrid, with three in-office days per week at our San Francisco FiDi location.
- Lead the visual design and ongoing evolution of the Hazel brand
- Define and expand Hazel’s design language across product marketing, launches, web, campaigns, and in-product brand moments
- Partner closely with Product Design to influence UX direction and ensure cohesive brand expression
- Collaborate with motion designers and illustrators to create immersive, forward-looking experiences
- Translate complex AI capabilities into clear, elegant visual storytelling
- Explore and responsibly integrate emerging tools and technologies into the creative workflow
- Contribute to early-stage concepting for new Hazel initiatives and product expansions
- Uphold and elevate craft standards across every touchpoint
What you bring
- 6–8+ years of brand design experience, ideally including product-adjacent work
- A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional craft, strong systems thinking, and modern sensibility
- Experience shaping or evolving a product-focused brand
- Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; bonus points for motion literacy
- Strong understanding of current visual trends, digital culture, and AI-driven creative tools
- Ability to think conceptually and execute with precision
- Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Strong collaboration skills and the confidence to influence cross-functional partners
This role is a fit if...
- You move fast without sacrificing craft
- You care deeply about typography, hierarchy, interaction, and nuance
- You experiment intelligently and push ideas forward
- You can zoom out to system-level thinking and zoom in to pixel-level detail
- You see AI as a design frontier, not just a feature
What success looks like
- Hazel has a distinctive, forward-looking visual identity that feels cohesive across product and brand
- Creative output feels modern, intelligent, and unmistakably premium
- Product and brand teams operate as a unified design force
- The Hazel ecosystem becomes a benchmark for AI product storytelling in fintech
Location: San Francisco, CA salary range
$190,000 - $230,000 USD

How to Get Visa Sponsorship in ALTRUIST Visa Sponsorship USA
Target roles where Altruist has sponsored before
Altruist's sponsorship history skews toward technical and professional roles aligned with its fintech platform. Focus your applications on engineering, product, and data-adjacent positions where the company has a demonstrated track record of supporting international candidates.
Lead with Green Card intent if you're planning long-term
Altruist has a strong history of sponsoring Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. If permanent residency is your goal, raise it early in the process, employers who invest in Green Card sponsorship appreciate candidates who are transparent about their long-term plans.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every fintech company sponsors visas at the same level. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your energy on companies like Altruist that have a consistent record of supporting international hires.
Prepare for a technical-first hiring process
Altruist operates in a competitive fintech space and runs structured hiring processes typical of Technology & Software companies. Expect technical assessments and system design rounds, arriving well-prepared signals you're serious and reduces friction around sponsorship conversations later.
Bring up sponsorship after demonstrating fit, not before
Altruist is an active sponsor, but immigration discussions land better once you've shown genuine alignment with the role. Lead with your technical skills and domain expertise during early rounds, then confirm sponsorship logistics once mutual interest is established.

Does Altruist sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Altruist sponsors H-1B visas. The company has filed H-1B petitions for professional and technical roles, particularly within its Technology & Software teams. If you're currently on H-1B status or will need a cap-subject petition, it's worth confirming sponsorship directly with the recruiter early in the process to align on timing and expectations.
What types of visas does Altruist sponsor?
Altruist sponsors a range of visa and immigration pathways, including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card categories such as EB-2 and EB-3. This breadth makes Altruist a strong option for international candidates at various stages of their U.S. immigration journey, from students on OPT to professionals seeking permanent residency.
Which departments or roles at Altruist are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Altruist's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical and specialized professional roles, consistent with its identity as a fintech platform. Software engineering, data, product, and similar roles in the Technology & Software domain are the most likely to receive sponsorship. Roles requiring niche expertise or advanced degrees tend to align best with the company's Green Card sponsorship history.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Altruist?
The most reliable way is to use Migrate Mate, which tracks verified sponsorship history and surfaces open roles at companies like Altruist that have a real record of sponsoring international candidates. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering late in the process that sponsorship isn't available for a specific role or team.
How do I approach the application timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Altruist?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed in April for an October 1 start date, so timing your job search accordingly is important. If you're already in the U.S. on a valid status such as OPT, you may be able to start sooner under a cap-exempt scenario or OPT extension. Confirm your specific situation with Altruist's recruiting team early so both sides can plan around USCIS deadlines.
