INTRODUCTION
The Finance Process, Analytics, Reporting, and Technology (PART) team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated analyst to help shape the future of AI-powered finance at Apple. As part of this team, you will support Apple's growth, both top and bottom line, by applying the same level of innovation toward financial matters as we do toward our products and services. We work closely with various business teams to deeply understand current and future commercial initiatives and then partner with data engineering, data science, and full stack development teams to ensure our finance teams are fully empowered to operate efficiently and make well-informed decisions - increasingly through the use of cutting-edge AI capabilities.
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an outgoing professional with high analytical capacity, creativity, intellectual curiosity, and strong interpersonal skills to support the WW Sales Finance organization. In this role, you will be embedded at the intersection of finance domain expertise and AI product development - serving as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and the teams building next-generation AI tools for finance. You will be responsible for driving the adoption, quality, and continuous improvement of AI-powered finance capabilities, ensuring they deliver real, measurable value to the analysts and teams who depend on them. The position requires the ability to understand and work with complex data sets, generated from equally complex business processes, in order to drive insights and inform product decisions.
Responsibilities
-
Deeply understand Apple's relevant business activities, commercial interests, and related processes - and apply that knowledge to help define what "good" looks like for AI-generated outputs
-
Drive day-to-day execution of roadmap priorities across finance capabilities - including writing requirements, consolidating and proposing priorities, and analyzing user feedback with guidance from senior team members
-
Review and evaluate AI-generated answers and analyses for accuracy and business relevance, helping define best-in-class responses that set the quality bar for each capability
-
Identify and drive solutions in response to user feedback, translating observations into actionable product improvements
-
Lead documentation and knowledge-building efforts - maintaining shared context, frameworks, and curated resources that support team onboarding and continuity
-
Define and enforce SQL best practices across relevant datasets, particularly as capabilities expand into new data domains
-
Review and validate SQL queries in collaboration with technical partners, developing proficiency in data verification and quality assurance
-
Support successful capability launches and drive adoption - including providing structured feedback, participating in testing cycles, and engaging stakeholders
-
Partner with and train analysts to best use our data and technology infrastructure for building dashboards, reports, and conducting analyses
-
Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, or analyses, demonstrating intellectual curiosity beyond the immediate scope of work
-
Translate business requirements into technical requirements and work with engineering partners to assess feasibility and form project plans
-
Communicate the business value of proposed projects to senior leadership by framing opportunities in terms of impact, feasibility, and alignment with strategic goals, enabling effective prioritization and resourcing decisions
-
Collaborate with engineering and data partners to influence tool and pipeline design decisions that improve usability and long-term maintainability
-
Document and share reusable frameworks, templates, and tools to improve onboarding and speed up solution delivery
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
2+ years of consulting or financial/business/data analyst experience
-
BS/MBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or BS/MS in STEM or a quantitative field (CS, Applied Statistics, Operations Research)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
4 years of consulting or financial/business/data analyst experience
-
Excellent problem-framing, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to change direction quickly
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate results of analysis in business terms
-
Confirmed ability to conduct complex, data-driven analysis
-
Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial modeling
-
A basic understanding of data design pattern differences between transactional ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and analytical data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake)
-
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and curiosity about how large language models and AI-powered tools can be applied to financial analysis and reporting
-
Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, comfortable dealing with ambiguity
-
Knowledge of SQL and experience working with large datasets

Experience with data analytics tools and languages (e.g. R, Python)

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Data Science Analyst Jobs at Apple Jobs
Align your portfolio to Apple's product lines
Apple Data Science Analyst roles consistently involve supply chain forecasting, hardware demand modeling, and App Store analytics. Tailor your project portfolio to reflect these domains before applying, not after you get a callback.
Verify your degree field matches specialty occupation criteria
USCIS requires a direct nexus between your degree field and the Data Science Analyst role. A statistics or computer science degree maps cleanly. A business degree with no quantitative coursework creates an RFE risk you should resolve before filing.
Target Apple's university recruiting pipeline early
Apple fills many Data Science Analyst positions through structured campus programs that accommodate F-1 OPT and CPT timelines. Engaging Apple recruiters at career fairs or through university partnerships before graduation significantly improves your sponsorship entry point.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Apple Data Science Analyst openings by visa type
Apple posts Data Science Analyst roles across multiple teams with different sponsorship realities. Migrate Mate lets you filter active Apple openings by the specific visa categories you qualify for, so you're targeting roles where sponsorship is already on the table.

Find Data Science Analyst at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Data Science Analysts?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Data Science Analyst roles. Apple participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery each spring, with petitions filed for an October 1 start date. If you're already on OPT, Apple can file your H-1B while you're working, provided your OPT doesn't expire before the cap filing window opens.
How do I apply for Data Science Analyst jobs at Apple?
Applications go through Apple's careers portal at jobs.apple.com. Apple's Data Science Analyst roles are distributed across multiple teams including Apple Pay, retail analytics, hardware supply chain, and the App Store. You can also browse and filter Apple's open roles by visa type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions where sponsorship has historically been offered.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Data Science Analyst roles?
Apple sponsors H-1B for most international Data Science Analysts, along with H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals and E-3 for Australian citizens. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates. For longer-term pathways, Apple also files PERM labor certifications to support EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card applications for qualifying employees.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Data Science Analyst roles?
Apple typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and statistical modeling is standard. Roles tied to hardware or supply chain often require familiarity with time-series forecasting or operations research. A degree field with a clear link to data science matters for USCIS specialty occupation approval as well.
How do I manage my visa timeline during Apple's hiring process?
Apple's hiring cycles don't always align neatly with USCIS filing windows. If you're on OPT, confirm whether your expiration date allows Apple to file an H-1B before your work authorization lapses. If OPT runs out before October 1 and you win the lottery, premium processing through USCIS can reduce approval time to roughly 15 business days, which may bridge the gap.
