Frame your credentials around insurtech sales cycles
Applied Systems operates in insurance technology, so position your resume around SaaS pipeline management, channel partnerships, or agency-facing sales. USCIS requires specialty occupation evidence, so your degree should connect directly to the business development function you're targeting.
Search DOL LCA filings to confirm role-level sponsorship
Not every Business Development title at a technology company qualifies as a specialty occupation. Pull Applied Systems LCA disclosures through the DOL's OFLC Performance Data portal to see which job titles and salary levels have been certified previously.
Target open roles through Migrate Mate's visa-filtered job board
Find Business Development openings at Applied Systems that are actively open to sponsored candidates using Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa type so you're not guessing which roles are actually available to international applicants.
Negotiate offer timing around H-1B cap deadlines
H-1B cap registration opens in March. If you're interviewing at Applied Systems in late fall or winter, align your offer acceptance and start date with your employer's H-1B preparation timeline so your petition is ready before the registration window closes.
Clarify TN eligibility before accepting a Business Development offer
Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status in a relevant professional category. Confirm with Applied Systems HR whether your specific Business Development title and degree field meet TN criteria, since this can accelerate your authorization compared to H-1B.

Does Applied Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Applied Systems has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field is typically required. If you're in a business, marketing, or technology discipline, your credentials are the starting point for that determination.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Applied Systems?
Applications go through Applied Systems' careers portal on their website. You can also find their open Business Development roles filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to confirm whether a specific listing is open to H-1B or OPT candidates before you apply.
Which visa types does Applied Systems commonly use for Business Development hires?
Applied Systems sponsors H-1B and F-1 OPT for Business Development positions. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose degree and role description align with a qualifying professional category. Each visa type has different eligibility criteria, so the right path depends on your nationality, degree field, and where you are in your immigration timeline.
What qualifications does Applied Systems expect for Business Development roles?
Applied Systems typically looks for candidates with experience in SaaS sales, channel partnerships, or insurance technology markets. A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is standard. For sponsored candidates, the degree must directly relate to the role since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation eligibility for Business Development titles more closely than for technical engineering roles.
How do I time my application to avoid gaps in work authorization?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply to Applied Systems early enough that an offer and onboarding can happen before your OPT expires. H-1B cap petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. If your current status expires before October, ask Applied Systems HR whether cap-gap coverage applies or whether an alternative visa category can bridge the gap.
