Align Your Background With Clinical Laboratory Markets
ARUP serves hospitals, reference labs, and health systems. Before applying, reframe your Business Development experience around healthcare client acquisition or lab services sales. Hiring managers will screen for familiarity with these buyer types, not just general BD skills.
Confirm Your Visa Category Before Outreach
ARUP sponsors multiple visa types for Business Development roles. If you're on F-1 OPT, verify your employer enrollment in E-Verify, which is required for OPT employment. This is a practical checkpoint to resolve before your first conversation with a recruiter.
Target Roles That Match Your Degree Field
H-1B approval for Business Development roles hinges on demonstrating a specialty occupation. A degree in business, marketing, or healthcare administration directly tied to the role's responsibilities strengthens your petition. Mismatched degrees are a common reason USCIS issues a Request for Evidence.
Apply Through Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Openings
Not every Business Development job listing includes sponsorship details. Use Migrate Mate to filter ARUP Laboratories openings that are confirmed visa-friendly, so you're not spending time on roles that won't support your immigration status.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Documentation File
Before your H-1B petition is filed, gather degree transcripts, job descriptions from previous BD roles, and any licensing relevant to healthcare services. These documents help your employer's immigration counsel build a strong specialty occupation argument specific to your position.

Find Business Development at ARUP Laboratories JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ARUP Laboratories sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, ARUP Laboratories has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development positions. For these roles, sponsorship typically requires demonstrating that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which means showing a direct connection between the job duties and a specific bachelor's-level field of study. Candidates with degrees in business, healthcare administration, or a related discipline are generally best positioned.
Which visa types does ARUP Laboratories commonly sponsor for Business Development positions?
ARUP sponsors several visa categories for Business Development roles, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, ARUP has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does ARUP Laboratories look for in Business Development candidates?
ARUP typically looks for Business Development candidates with experience in healthcare, clinical laboratory services, or life sciences sales and partnership development. Familiarity with hospital procurement cycles, health system relationships, or reference laboratory contracting is a practical advantage. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is generally expected, and prior experience selling diagnostic or laboratory products carries real weight in the hiring process.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at ARUP Laboratories?
You can browse current Business Development openings at ARUP Laboratories on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles confirmed to support visa sponsorship. When applying directly, tailor your resume to reflect healthcare industry BD experience, particularly around clinical laboratory or diagnostics clients. Reaching out to ARUP's talent acquisition team after submitting your application can also help move your candidacy forward in a competitive process.
How do I plan my timeline if ARUP Laboratories sponsors my H-1B for a Business Development role?
H-1B petitions are filed on April 1 each year and, if selected in the lottery, take effect October 1. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, confirm that your OPT authorization covers the gap period. Premium processing, available through USCIS, reduces adjudication to roughly 15 business days and is worth requesting if your start date is time-sensitive. Start employer conversations at least six months before your current status expires.
