Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Business Operations Jobs at athenahealth Jobs
Align your experience with healthcare operations workflows
athenahealth's Business Operations roles center on revenue cycle management, payer contracting, and clinical workflow optimization. Frame your resume around measurable process improvements in healthcare or SaaS environments, not generic operations achievements.
Confirm your visa category before applying
athenahealth sponsors H-1B, TN, and OPT for Business Operations roles. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility early. E-Verify enrollment at athenahealth means your employer authorization is verified at onboarding, so paperwork delays can affect your start date.
Target roles that explicitly list cross-functional scope
Business Operations positions at athenahealth often sit at the intersection of product, finance, and go-to-market teams. Roles framed around strategic planning or GTM operations tend to have more sponsorship flexibility than narrowly defined administrative support positions.
Prepare for a structured interview process with case components
athenahealth's hiring for Business Operations typically includes analytical case exercises alongside behavioral interviews. Prepare frameworks for healthcare market sizing, operational bottlenecks, and process redesign scenarios specific to ambulatory or hospital software environments.
Negotiate offer timing around H-1B cap deadlines
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, USCIS registration opens in March and employment can't begin before October 1. Align your offer negotiation to account for this gap. Start dates that fall between April and September require either OPT coverage or a cap-exempt pathway.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Business Operations openings
Finding roles that combine genuine sponsorship willingness with the right scope is the hardest part of this search. Use Migrate Mate to browse Business Operations jobs at athenahealth filtered by visa type, so you're only reviewing positions that match your authorization needs.

Find Business Operations at athenahealth JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does athenahealth sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, athenahealth sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery and has also sponsored employees through PERM-based Green Card pathways, including EB-2 and EB-3 categories. If you're targeting a cap-subject H-1B, factor in the March registration window and the October 1 start date when negotiating your offer timeline.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at athenahealth?
Applications go through athenahealth's careers portal. For visa-sponsored candidates, the most efficient approach is to identify roles that explicitly mention sponsorship or that align with functions athenahealth has historically sponsored. You can use Migrate Mate to browse verified Business Operations openings at athenahealth filtered by your visa type before applying directly.
Which visa types does athenahealth commonly use for Business Operations roles?
athenahealth sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Business Operations positions, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for longer-term employees. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. F-1 CPT is typically limited to candidates in academic programs with internship requirements built into their curriculum.
What qualifications does athenahealth expect for Business Operations roles?
athenahealth's Business Operations positions generally require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field, with stronger candidates holding experience in healthcare technology, SaaS operations, or revenue cycle environments. Analytical proficiency, cross-functional project coordination, and familiarity with go-to-market or product operations workflows are consistently valued across job postings for this function.
How do I plan my visa sponsorship timeline when pursuing a role at athenahealth?
The timeline depends on your current status. F-1 OPT candidates should confirm their remaining work authorization covers the expected start date, with STEM extension filed before OPT expires if eligible. Cap-subject H-1B candidates should align offer negotiations to the March USCIS registration window, since new employment under a cap H-1B can't begin before October 1 of that fiscal year.
