Job Description
We’re hiring WAQTC Lab / Field Technicians to support Idaho Department of Transportation (ITD) projects in Idaho Falls and Pocatello. In this role, you’ll perform construction materials testing and inspection that directly impacts the safety and longevity of public infrastructure. This is hands-on, field-based work where accuracy, teamwork, and attention to detail matter.
Join a dynamic, value-driven, client- and community-focused environment where your work creates a lasting positive impact for the people and communities we serve.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform building and materials inspections in accordance with ICC standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Review construction plans, specifications, and on-site work (reinforced concrete, masonry, fireproofing) to verify code and safety compliance.
- Document inspection results accurately, prepare detailed reports, and issue correction notices with clear guidance for contractors and project teams.
- Communicate professionally with builders, engineers, municipal authorities, and internal stakeholders to resolve compliance and quality issues.
- Maintain required certifications, training records, safety documentation, timecards, and expense reports in compliance with company standards.
- Support quality assurance efforts, laboratory testing as needed, and field assignments across Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and surrounding areas while upholding Atlas standards.
You’ll thrive here if you have
- ACI Field Grade Level 1 certification, or the ability and commitment to obtain it.
- At least one current certification (WAQTC, Aggregate, Asphalt, In-Place, or Embankment), with willingness to pursue additional certifications such as ACI, ICC, or WAQTC within 60 days of hire.
- Two or more years of hands-on experience in one or more phases of construction and a general understanding of construction practices.
- The ability to read, understand, and consistently follow procedures, standards, and safety requirements.
- A strong safety mindset, including the ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing and maintain OSHA 10 certification.
- The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying conditions.
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, and flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or travel out of town as needed.
- A professional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with the public, contractors, supervisors, and team members.
- Basic math, writing, and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with the discipline to complete accurate field reports, track time and expenses daily, and respond promptly to calls and emails.

Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
Management Consultant roles at Atlas require a direct tie between your degree field and the consulting function. Document how your education specifically qualifies the role, not just that you hold a degree, since USCIS scrutinizes generalist titles heavily.
Target Atlas roles tied to infrastructure or technical programs
Atlas Technical Consultants primarily wins contracts in infrastructure, environmental, and government services. Applying to Management Consultant openings connected to those verticals strengthens your case and signals genuine fit rather than a lateral move from unrelated industries.
Ask about LCA filing timelines before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process an H-1B petition. Clarifying where Atlas is in that process during the offer stage helps you plan your start date and avoid gaps in work authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Management Consultant openings
Filtering by sponsorship history and role type narrows your search to positions where visa support is realistic. Migrate Mate surfaces active Atlas Technical Consultants listings alongside sponsorship context, saving you from applying blind.
Confirm OPT or CPT eligibility with your DSO early
If you're on an F-1 visa, Atlas has used both OPT and CPT for Management Consultant roles. Coordinate with your Designated School Official before your offer letter arrives, since CPT authorization must be in place before employment begins, not after.
Prepare for multi-round interviews covering client delivery scenarios
Atlas consulting interviews typically probe how you manage stakeholder relationships and project deliverables, not just technical knowledge. Structuring your examples around measurable outcomes and client-facing situations aligns with how Atlas evaluates consulting hires.

Does Atlas Technical Consultants sponsor H-1B visas for Management Consultants?
Yes, Atlas Technical Consultants has sponsored H-1B visas for Management Consultant roles. Because consulting positions must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS rules, your application will need to demonstrate a direct relationship between a specific degree field and the responsibilities of the role. Generalist framing can create complications, so precise documentation matters.
Which visa types are commonly used for Management Consultant roles at Atlas Technical Consultants?
Atlas Technical Consultants has used H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Management Consultant positions. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering consulting, while TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. H-1B is the standard long-term path for candidates who need employer-sponsored status beyond OPT.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Management Consultant roles at Atlas Technical Consultants?
Atlas typically looks for candidates with a relevant bachelor's or master's degree in fields like engineering, business, environmental science, or a related technical discipline. Consulting roles at Atlas are often tied to infrastructure or government program delivery, so experience managing complex projects, analyzing data, or working with public-sector clients tends to differentiate competitive applicants.
How do I apply for Management Consultant jobs at Atlas Technical Consultants?
You can browse active Management Consultant openings at Atlas Technical Consultants on Migrate Mate, which surfaces listings with sponsorship context so you can focus on roles where visa support is realistic. Applications typically go through Atlas's careers portal, and roles in infrastructure or technical services programs tend to move through hiring quickly given active contract work.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a role at Atlas Technical Consultants?
H-1B petitions for cap-subject candidates must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, which means you need an offer several months in advance. If you're transitioning off OPT, confirm whether Atlas can begin the H-1B process while your OPT is still valid. A 60-day grace period applies after OPT ends, but USCIS filing must be initiated before status lapses.
