Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Manufacturing Engineer Jobs at AutoNation Jobs
Align your credentials to automotive standards
AutoNation prioritizes Manufacturing Engineers familiar with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or IATF 16949 quality frameworks. Document these competencies explicitly on your resume so they surface in automated screening before a recruiter ever reads your application.
Target dealership operations roles strategically
AutoNation's Manufacturing Engineer openings span both corporate and regional operations. Roles tied to vehicle reconditioning, parts logistics, or process standardization across dealership groups tend to have clearer sponsorship precedent than project-based contract positions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring roles
Not every AutoNation Manufacturing Engineer posting explicitly states sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to browse roles filtered by visa type so you apply only to positions where H-1B or TN support is already confirmed, saving weeks of back-and-forth.
Raise sponsorship timing before the offer stage
AutoNation's recruiting teams manage high application volumes across hundreds of locations. Confirm your visa type and authorization timeline in the final interview round, not after an offer, so the hiring manager can loop in HR before approvals stall.
Prepare for TN if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Manufacturing Engineer is a qualifying TN occupation under USMCA. Unlike H-1B, TN requires no employer petition filed with USCIS in advance. You can enter at a port of entry with a job offer letter and supporting credentials, which compresses the hiring timeline significantly.
Get your academic credentials evaluated early
If your engineering degree is from outside the U.S., obtain a NACES-member credential evaluation before applying. AutoNation's HR compliance process for H-1B filings requires USCIS to confirm your degree meets specialty occupation standards, and delays here can push your start date by months.

Find Manufacturing Engineer at AutoNation JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AutoNation sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers?
Yes, AutoNation sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineer roles. The company has an active history of supporting international candidates in engineering functions. Because H-1B sponsorship requires a formal USCIS petition and employer commitment, confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiting team during the interview process before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Engineer jobs at AutoNation?
Applications go through AutoNation's careers portal. Search for Manufacturing Engineer roles filtered by region or business unit. Tailor your resume to highlight process improvement, quality systems experience, and any automotive-specific certifications. If you need visa sponsorship, note your visa type early in the application or screening call so it reaches the right HR contact without delay.
Which visa types does AutoNation commonly use for Manufacturing Engineers?
AutoNation sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers and accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for early-career or internship-track roles. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status, which is faster to obtain than H-1B since it doesn't require a USCIS petition or lottery entry. Confirm which types apply to a specific role with the recruiter.
What qualifications does AutoNation expect for Manufacturing Engineer roles?
AutoNation typically expects a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Practical experience with lean methodologies, process documentation, and quality management systems strengthens your candidacy. Familiarity with automotive service operations or dealership infrastructure is a differentiator for roles tied to AutoNation's retail and reconditioning network rather than traditional factory environments.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at AutoNation?
Timeline depends on your visa type. TN sponsorship for Canadian or Mexican nationals can be arranged within weeks. H-1B sponsorship is subject to USCIS processing timelines and, for cap-subject petitions, the annual April lottery. F-1 OPT allows you to start work without waiting for a petition. Browse current openings with visa filters on Migrate Mate to identify roles that match your authorization type and timeline.
