Align Your Credentials to Bentley's Disciplines
Bentley concentrates its adjunct hiring in business, data analytics, accounting, and liberal studies. Tailor your CV to emphasize coursework, research, or professional experience in these fields so hiring managers immediately see the fit.
Confirm Your Degree Meets Specialty Occupation Standards
USCIS requires H-1B adjunct roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must directly relate to the subject you'll teach. A mismatch between your field of study and your assigned courses is a common petition stumbling block.
Ask Bentley About Their Academic Year Filing Timeline
Universities typically file H-1B petitions tied to the academic semester start date, not a rolling basis. Clarify with Bentley's HR whether your start date requires an October 1 cap-subject filing or qualifies for a cap-exempt university exception.
Browse Open Adjunct Roles Before Reaching Out
Use Migrate Mate to filter Adjunct Professor openings at Bentley University by visa type so you can target roles where sponsorship has already been used for this position, then approach the department with a focused application.
Request a TN Assessment If You Hold Canadian or Mexican Citizenship
TN status covers university-level teaching roles and involves no lottery, no USCIS petition fee, and faster processing than H-1B. Ask Bentley's international faculty office whether your teaching assignment qualifies under the USMCA teacher category.

Find Adjunct Professor at Bentley University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Bentley University sponsor H-1B visas for Adjunct Professors?
Yes, Bentley University sponsors H-1B visas for Adjunct Professor roles. As a university, Bentley may qualify as a cap-exempt institution, which means petitions can be filed year-round without entering the annual H-1B lottery. You'll still need to demonstrate the role meets USCIS specialty occupation standards, with your degree field matching the subject you're hired to teach.
How do I apply for Adjunct Professor jobs at Bentley University?
Applications go through Bentley's official careers portal, where adjunct openings are listed by department. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse verified Adjunct Professor openings at Bentley filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you apply only to roles where international hiring is supported. Tailoring your application to Bentley's business and analytics curriculum significantly improves your chances.
Which visa types does Bentley University commonly use for Adjunct Professor roles?
Bentley sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for faculty roles, and as a university it may file cap-exempt petitions. F-1 OPT and CPT are also used by recent graduates taking on adjunct teaching while completing U.S. degrees. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the teacher category, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas are available for longer-term faculty transitions.
What qualifications does Bentley University expect for Adjunct Professor positions?
Most Adjunct Professor roles at Bentley require a master's degree at minimum, with a doctorate preferred for upper-level or graduate courses. Bentley's adjunct needs skew toward business, finance, data analytics, accounting, and economics, so professional industry experience alongside academic credentials strengthens an application considerably. USCIS also requires that the degree field directly correspond to the subject being taught for H-1B eligibility.
How do I handle the H-1B filing timeline when starting an adjunct role at Bentley?
Universities may file H-1B petitions outside the annual April lottery window under cap-exempt rules, which removes the October 1 start date constraint. Even so, USCIS processing takes several months, so Bentley's HR office typically needs to initiate the petition well before your semester start. If you're already on F-1 OPT, that status can cover teaching while the H-1B petition is pending.
