Align your credentials with specialty occupation standards
Bentley hires Lecturers in fields tied to specific degree disciplines. Before applying, confirm your highest degree directly matches the subject area you'd teach. USCIS requires a direct relationship between your field of study and the role for H-1B approval.
Target departments with recurring faculty openings
Bentley's business and analytics departments post Lecturer roles with regularity. Tracking department-level hiring patterns, not just university-wide postings, helps you time your application when a sponsoring position is actively open rather than reaching out speculatively.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Universities sometimes sponsor H-1B but decline to cover PERM-based green card sponsorship for Lecturers, who are often on non-tenure tracks. Confirm in writing which visa pathways Bentley will support before you sign an offer letter.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Lecturer openings
Lecturer roles that include active visa sponsorship aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter Bentley University postings by visa type so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for DOL wage requirements in the Boston market
The Labor Condition Application filed with DOL sets a prevailing wage floor for your role and location. Bentley's Waltham campus falls under the Boston metropolitan wage area, which carries higher prevailing wage levels than many other university markets.

Find Lecturer at Bentley University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Bentley University sponsor H-1B visas for Lecturers?
Yes, Bentley University sponsors H-1B visas for Lecturer roles. Lecturers typically qualify as specialty occupation workers because the position requires a degree in a specific academic discipline. Bentley's international faculty hiring process is supported by its HR and legal teams, who handle the Labor Condition Application filing with DOL and the H-1B petition with USCIS.
How do I apply for Lecturer jobs at Bentley University?
Lecturer openings at Bentley are posted through the university's careers portal and on external job platforms. Applications typically require a cover letter, CV, and teaching statement. For international candidates, you can browse current Lecturer roles filtered by visa sponsorship availability on Migrate Mate, which surfaces only positions where Bentley has confirmed sponsorship support.
Which visa types does Bentley University commonly use for Lecturer roles?
Bentley sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work authorization pathway for Lecturers. The university also works with TN visa holders from Canada and Mexico in qualifying disciplines, and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates still on student status. For longer-term faculty, EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship has also been used, though this is more common for tenure-track positions.
What qualifications does Bentley University expect for Lecturer positions?
Most Lecturer roles at Bentley require at least a master's degree in the relevant field, though doctoral candidates and ABD applicants are competitive for certain departments. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is typically expected. For USCIS H-1B purposes, your degree must specifically relate to the subject matter you'll be teaching, not just a broadly adjacent discipline.
How do I plan my timeline when applying for a sponsored Lecturer role at Bentley?
Bentley's academic hiring cycle runs primarily in the fall for spring openings and in spring for fall starts. H-1B cap-subject petitions have an April 1 filing window for an October 1 start date, which aligns with a fall semester. If you're already on H-1B or TN status, transfers can move faster. Build at least three to four months of runway between your offer letter and your intended start date to allow for USCIS processing.
