The product focuses primarily on online quote and bind with some traditional referrals for larger or higher hazard risks. This role offers the chance to lead product development from concept to launch, influence underwriting strategy, and work cross-functionally across actuarial, marketing, legal, and IT.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the development of new insurance products, including underwriting guidelines, from concept to launch.
- Manages existing and new products to ensure production and profitability targets are met.
- Key stakeholder in driving rate and pricing decisions. Drives collaboration with actuarial, distribution and production underwriting to create and enhance rating algorithms.
- Functions as the ultimate referral underwriter by providing guidance and thought leadership to production underwriting at the single risk level and at the portfolio level.
- Manages the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring milestones are met on time.
- Defines and prioritizes insurance product requirements, focusing on customer-centric solutions.
- Coordinates cross functional teams, including underwriting, distribution, actuarial, legal and IT to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Owns competitor intelligence strategy and conducts market intelligence.
- Presents product road maps, performance, and strategies to senior management.
- Collaborate with risk-based AI team to implement Underwriting Guidelines via our proprietary artificial intelligence software.
- Manage and develop a small product team.
