Understand the H-1B lottery timeline before you apply
H-1B sponsorship through Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company is subject to the annual lottery, with registration opening in March. Apply to open roles well in advance so an offer can be secured before the registration window, avoiding a full year's delay.
Ask about sponsorship directly but professionally during the interview
Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company operates within a large corporate structure that has established visa processes. Raise sponsorship early, frame it as confirming logistics rather than asking a favor. Companies with existing H-1B infrastructure expect and handle these conversations routinely.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company sponsors H-1B visas for qualified international candidates. Sponsorship is typically concentrated in technical and analytical roles that meet the specialty occupation standard the H-1B requires, such as actuarial, software, and data-focused positions. Candidates should confirm sponsorship availability with the hiring team for any specific role during the interview process.
How active is Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company as a visa sponsor?
Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company sponsors visas on a selective basis rather than at high volume. This reflects its size within the broader Berkshire Hathaway group and its focused hiring needs in specialized insurance roles. While it is not among the largest sponsors in the insurance sector, it has an established track record of supporting H-1B candidates in qualifying positions.
Which roles at Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
Roles most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship at Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company tend to fall in technically demanding areas: actuarial analysis, software and systems development, data science, and financial risk management. These positions typically require a specific bachelor's degree or higher, satisfying the specialty occupation definition that the H-1B visa mandates. General administrative or sales roles are less likely to qualify.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company?
The most efficient approach is to use Migrate Mate, which aggregates job listings from verified H-1B sponsors including Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company. You can filter by company, visa type, and industry to surface roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome, saving time you'd otherwise spend vetting employers who don't sponsor at all.
How do I approach the application process if I need H-1B sponsorship at Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company?
Start by identifying roles in technical or analytical departments where H-1B sponsorship is most common. Disclose your sponsorship requirement early in the process, ideally at the recruiter screening stage, so both sides can confirm feasibility before investing time. Given the H-1B lottery timeline, securing an offer before March improves your chances of being included in that year's registration cycle.
