Target engineering and technical roles first
Blizzard's sponsorship activity is concentrated in software engineering, data, and infrastructure roles. If your background is in Technology & Software, you're applying into the company's strongest hiring pipeline and highest sponsorship volume by far.
Understand which visas Blizzard actively files
Blizzard sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card pathways. Knowing which category fits your background before you apply helps you ask the right questions and signal that you understand the process.
Highlight specialty occupation qualifications clearly
For H-1B sponsorship, Blizzard needs to demonstrate your role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Make sure your resume and cover letter connect your degree field directly to the specific technical or creative role you're targeting.
Consider TN status if you're Canadian or Mexican
Blizzard sponsors TN visas, which bypass the H-1B lottery entirely. If you're a Canadian or Mexican national in a qualifying occupation like engineering or computer systems analysis, TN is a faster and more predictable path.
Use OPT or CPT as your foot in the door
Blizzard participates in F-1 OPT and CPT hiring, which means students can gain real experience there before pursuing full sponsorship. Converting an internship or OPT role into a full-time sponsored position is a proven path at gaming studios.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every gaming company sponsors visas at scale. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your energy on employers like Blizzard that have a demonstrated track record.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Blizzard Entertainment sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Blizzard Entertainment sponsors H-1B visas and does so consistently, making it one of the more active sponsors in the gaming and technology sector. Sponsorship is most common for software engineering, data, and technical production roles. If your position qualifies as a specialty occupation and your degree aligns with the job, Blizzard has a demonstrated history of supporting H-1B petitions for international employees.
Which visa types does Blizzard Entertainment sponsor?
Blizzard sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, H-1B1 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visa for nonimmigrant work authorization. For permanent residence, the company also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. This breadth of coverage means Blizzard can accommodate applicants at different career stages and from different countries of origin.
Which departments or roles at Blizzard Entertainment are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Blizzard is most concentrated in technical and engineering functions, including software development, data engineering, machine learning, and infrastructure. Game design and production roles with strong technical components also see sponsorship activity. Creative-only roles with no specialty occupation qualification are less likely to be sponsored, so aligning your application to a technical function improves your chances significantly.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Blizzard Entertainment?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find verified visa-sponsored positions at Blizzard Entertainment. Rather than filtering through general job listings and guessing whether a company sponsors, Migrate Mate shows you only employers with a real sponsorship history so you can apply with confidence. Search by role type, visa category, or company to surface Blizzard openings matched to your situation.
How do I approach the application process at Blizzard Entertainment as an international candidate?
Apply as you would for any senior technical role, but be upfront about your visa status early in the process. Blizzard has established immigration processes and won't be surprised by sponsorship requests, especially for H-1B or TN roles. Tailor your resume to emphasize the degree-to-job-title alignment that supports a specialty occupation argument, and be prepared to discuss your timeline and current authorization status during initial screening calls.
