Frame your robotics experience with precision
Boston Dynamics hires engineers who can demonstrate hands-on systems integration or controls experience, not just academic exposure. Tailor your resume to show hardware-software co-design work, specific platforms you've shipped, and outcomes that connect directly to autonomous or legged robotics.
Target roles that match your visa classification
OPT and CPT candidates should identify open Engineering requisitions that list degree fields matching their F-1 program exactly. A mismatch between your major and the role's specialty occupation definition can complicate USCIS review of a future H-1B petition.
Prepare documentation that supports specialty occupation
Boston Dynamics Engineering roles typically require a specific technical degree field, not just any bachelor's. Gather your transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations if you studied outside the U.S., and any graduate coursework that reinforces the direct connection to the position.
Verify the Labor Condition Application covers your work site
DOL requires an LCA for each worksite where you'll be employed on an H-1B. If Boston Dynamics assigns you to a facility or project site different from the company's main address, confirm the LCA reflects that location before your petition is filed with USCIS.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Engineering roles
Finding verified sponsorship-eligible Engineering positions at Boston Dynamics takes targeted filtering. Migrate Mate indexes roles by visa type, so you can browse current Boston Dynamics Engineering openings confirmed for H-1B, OPT, or TN sponsorship in one place.

Find Engineering at Boston Dynamics JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Dynamics sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Boston Dynamics sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering roles. The company has filed H-1B petitions for engineers across technical disciplines including robotics, mechanical, software, and controls engineering. Sponsorship is tied to specific open roles and requires that the position meet USCIS specialty occupation criteria, which Boston Dynamics Engineering requisitions typically satisfy given their degree-specific requirements.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Boston Dynamics?
Applications go through Boston Dynamics' careers page, where Engineering roles are listed by function and location. You can also browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Boston Dynamics positions by visa type so you see only roles open to H-1B, OPT, or TN candidates. Tailor your application to the specific engineering discipline listed and highlight relevant robotics or systems experience.
Which visa types does Boston Dynamics commonly use for Engineering roles?
Boston Dynamics sponsors H-1B visas for full-time Engineering hires and supports F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students and recent graduates. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations. The appropriate visa depends on your nationality, current status, and the specific Engineering role you're offered.
What qualifications does Boston Dynamics expect for Engineering positions?
Most Engineering roles at Boston Dynamics require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or robotics. Advanced degrees are common for research-oriented positions. Practical experience with embedded systems, motion planning, hardware prototyping, or real-time software strengthens applications significantly, particularly for roles on the Atlas or Spot product lines.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Boston Dynamics Engineering role?
If you're on F-1 OPT, you have up to 12 months of work authorization, with a 24-month STEM extension available for qualifying engineering degrees. Boston Dynamics must register you in the H-1B lottery by mid-March for an October 1 start. Build in time for the offer, onboarding, and LCA certification with the DOL before USCIS filing deadlines. Starting your job search at least six months before your OPT expires gives you realistic runway.
