Tailor your resume to EDA workflows
Cadence Systems Engineer roles frequently involve tools like Virtuoso, Xcelium, or Palladium. Aligning your resume to the specific platform or verification methodology listed in the job posting signals hands-on relevance before your application reaches a recruiter.
Confirm your degree field matches the role
H-1B specialty occupation requires your degree to align with the specific role, not just engineering broadly. A degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering maps cleanly to Systems Engineer at Cadence. A general engineering degree may require additional documentation to establish the connection.
Target roles in Cadence's core product divisions
Cadence's largest Systems Engineer hiring clusters around its Digital, Custom IC, and Verification product lines. Applying to roles tied to these divisions improves your odds of landing on a team with established sponsorship workflows and faster internal approvals.
Understand the LCA filing step before your offer
Before Cadence can file your H-1B petition with USCIS, it must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL confirming your offered wage meets prevailing wage levels. Knowing this step exists helps you anticipate a two- to four-week window between offer and petition filing.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Systems Engineer roles
Search Migrate Mate to filter Systems Engineer positions at Cadence by visa type, so you're only reviewing roles where sponsorship is explicitly part of the hiring process, not guessing from a generic job listing.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship during negotiation
Cadence sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories for qualifying roles. Raising the PERM labor certification timeline during offer negotiation, not after you've started, gives you a clearer picture of how long the path to permanent residency realistically takes at this employer.

Find Systems Engineer at Cadence Design Systems JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Cadence Design Systems sponsor H-1B visas for Systems Engineers?
Yes, Cadence Design Systems sponsors H-1B visas for Systems Engineer roles. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions for technical positions, and Systems Engineering sits squarely within the specialty occupation category the H-1B requires. Your degree field, typically Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline, will need to align with the specific role to support the petition.
How do I apply for Systems Engineer jobs at Cadence Design Systems?
Apply directly through Cadence's careers site or use Migrate Mate to browse Systems Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship availability. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific product area, whether that's verification, digital implementation, or custom IC design. Cadence recruiters assess both technical fit and the sponsorship pathway early in the process, so clarity on your visa status in your application helps move things forward.
Which visa types does Cadence Design Systems use for Systems Engineer roles?
Cadence sponsors H-1B visas for nonimmigrant work authorization, which is the most common path for Systems Engineers joining from F-1 OPT or from abroad. For longer-term permanent residency, Cadence also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories through the PERM labor certification process. The right pathway depends on your qualifications, your current status, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does Cadence Design Systems expect for Systems Engineer roles?
Most Systems Engineer roles at Cadence require a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, along with hands-on experience in areas like hardware verification, system integration, or semiconductor design flows. Familiarity with Cadence's own toolset, including Xcelium, Genus, or Innovus, is frequently listed as a requirement or strong preference, not just a nice-to-have.
How do I think about the sponsorship timeline for a Systems Engineer role at Cadence?
If you're on F-1 OPT, Cadence can employ you while your H-1B petition is pending. The DOL LCA certification typically takes two to four weeks, followed by the USCIS petition. Standard processing runs three to five months; premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, registration opens in March for an October 1 start, so your offer timing relative to the cap cycle matters significantly.
