Tailor your resume to water infrastructure
Carollo focuses almost exclusively on water and wastewater projects. Highlight experience with treatment plant design, hydraulic modeling, or utility master planning. Generic civil engineering resumes get screened out before sponsorship even enters the conversation.
Obtain your PE license before applying
Many senior engineering roles at Carollo require or strongly prefer a licensed Professional Engineer. If you're on F-1 OPT, using that window to sit for the PE exam strengthens your case for a sponsored role and speeds up the internal approval process.
Target offices in states with strong water programs
Carollo's hiring tends to cluster around states with active infrastructure investment. Offices in California, Arizona, and Texas historically fill more engineering roles. Applying to those locations improves your odds of landing a position where sponsorship budgets are already allocated.
Clarify visa type eligibility before your offer stage
Carollo sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and Green Card pathways, but the right fit depends on your nationality and role level. Ask the recruiter directly which visa types they've processed for similar positions so you're not surprised after an offer is extended.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Engineering roles at Carollo
Carollo posts engineering openings across multiple locations, and not all are easy to track. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Carollo roles that are open to visa sponsorship so you're only spending time on positions where support is confirmed.
Align your start date with H-1B cap timelines if needed
If you require a new H-1B and aren't cap-exempt, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Discuss this timeline with your Carollo recruiter early so the offer letter and I-129 filing are structured around the cap cycle, not against it.

Does Carollo Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Carollo Engineers sponsors H-1B visas for engineering roles. The firm works with immigration counsel to file petitions for qualified candidates, including both cap-subject and cap-exempt situations. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Carollo can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work as soon as the petition is received by USCIS.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Carollo Engineers?
Applications go through Carollo's careers portal, where roles are listed by discipline and location. To filter specifically for positions open to visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you browse Carollo's engineering openings with that filter applied. When you apply, tailor your materials to the water and wastewater sector and be direct in your cover letter about your visa status and what sponsorship you'll need.
Which visa types does Carollo Engineers commonly use for Engineering roles?
Carollo sponsors a range of visa categories for engineering hires, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students still in their academic programs. For longer-term hires, the firm also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process at the DOL.
What qualifications does Carollo Engineers expect for sponsored Engineering positions?
Most engineering roles require at minimum a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering from an accredited program. For H-1B purposes, the degree must be in a directly related field. Mid-level and senior roles often expect several years of water or wastewater project experience, and a Professional Engineer license is frequently listed as required or preferred for project lead positions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Carollo Engineers?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can allow you to start within weeks of USCIS receiving the petition. New H-1B cap cases follow the April lottery and October 1 start window. E-3 and TN visas can be processed at a U.S. consulate in a matter of weeks. PERM-based Green Card cases typically take one to three years from initial filing to a final decision.
