Align Your Portfolio to Water Infrastructure
Carollo's structural work centers on water and wastewater treatment facilities, not commercial or residential construction. Before applying, reframe your portfolio around pump stations, clarifier structures, or buried concrete work to match what their hiring teams review.
Verify Your PE License Transferability Early
Many Structural Engineer roles at Carollo require or fast-track candidates toward a U.S. Professional Engineer license. Research your state-by-state comity options before interviews so you can speak concretely to your licensure timeline during offer negotiations.
Target Offices in States with Active Projects
Carollo operates regional offices tied to specific utility clients and infrastructure programs. Use Migrate Mate to filter open Structural Engineer roles by location, then prioritize offices in states with funded capital improvement programs where hiring demand tends to be strongest.
Clarify Sponsorship Type During Offer Conversations
Carollo sponsors several visa categories, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. When you receive an offer, confirm in writing which visa category they're filing under and whether they'll cover USCIS filing fees, since consulting firms vary significantly on fee coverage policies.
Prepare Your Credentials for PERM If Targeting Green Card
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, DOL requires a PERM labor certification tied to your specific role and location. Gather foreign degree equivalency evaluations and employment verification letters before your start date so the process can begin without delays on your side.
Use OPT or CPT to Build Relevant Project Experience
Candidates on F-1 OPT who've worked on civil or structural engineering projects for utilities have a practical edge at Carollo. Document specific project types, software used (such as STAAD or RAM), and deliverables clearly on your resume to differentiate yourself at the screening stage.

Does Carollo Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Structural Engineers?
Yes, Carollo Engineers sponsors H-1B visas for Structural Engineer roles. The firm works with international candidates across multiple visa categories and has an established process for supporting sponsorship through the offer and filing stages. If you're on an expiring status, confirm your timeline with the recruiter early so USCIS filing deadlines can be built into your start date planning.
Which visa types does Carollo Engineers commonly sponsor for Structural Engineer roles?
Carollo Engineers sponsors a range of visa categories for Structural Engineers, including H-1B, E-3 (for Australian citizens), TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. For candidates seeking permanent residence, the firm also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process administered by the DOL.
What qualifications does Carollo Engineers expect for Structural Engineer positions?
Most Structural Engineer roles at Carollo require a bachelor's or master's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited program. Relevant experience with water and wastewater infrastructure, including concrete tank design, pump station structures, or buried piping systems, is a strong differentiator. Progress toward or attainment of a U.S. Professional Engineer license is frequently preferred, particularly for mid-level and senior roles.
How do I apply for Structural Engineer jobs at Carollo Engineers?
You can browse and apply for Structural Engineer roles at Carollo Engineers through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for employers that sponsor work visas so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. When submitting your application, tailor your resume to highlight infrastructure project experience and relevant structural software proficiency, since Carollo's recruiters screen for sector-specific technical background, not just general structural engineering credentials.
How do I plan my timeline if Carollo Engineers is filing an H-1B for me?
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date, so your offer and registration need to be in place before the March lottery window. If you're already in H-1B status transferring from another employer, Carollo can file a cap-exempt transfer and you can start sooner. Confirm with your recruiter whether premium processing is available, which reduces the USCIS adjudication window to around 15 business days.
