Frame your credentials around infrastructure software
Carollo operates in water and environmental engineering consulting, so position your technical leadership experience around civil infrastructure, GIS platforms, or asset management systems. Generic software management backgrounds get screened out faster than domain-adjacent ones.
Target roles that cross engineering and software disciplines
Carollo's Software Engineering Manager openings often sit at the intersection of IT systems and engineering delivery. When applying, draw explicit connections between managing software teams and supporting technical project execution, not just pure product or enterprise software contexts.
Confirm your degree aligns with specialty occupation requirements
For H-1B or E-3 sponsorship, USCIS requires that your degree field directly relates to the role. A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field strengthens your petition. A general business or unrelated technical degree can complicate the specialty occupation determination.
Ask about LCA filing timelines before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B or E-3 petition. At a consulting firm like Carollo, project-based hiring can move quickly, so clarify how much lead time HR needs to start the LCA process before your target start date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Software Engineering Manager openings by sponsorship
Carollo posts roles across multiple locations with different sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to surface active Software Engineering Manager listings at Carollo filtered by the visa types you need, so you're not manually sorting through roles that won't support your situation.
Understand how consulting firm structures affect Green Card timelines
Carollo is a professional services employer, meaning EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship depends on ongoing employment continuity. Ask during negotiation whether the company initiates PERM after a defined tenure, since consulting roles tied to project cycles can affect the required permanent job offer documentation.

Find Software Engineering Manager at Carollo Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Carollo Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineering Managers?
Yes, Carollo Engineers sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineering Manager roles. Because the H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, your application will be stronger if your degree is in computer science, software engineering, or a directly related technical field. Confirm sponsorship availability with the recruiter early, since H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Software Engineering Manager jobs at Carollo Engineers?
Apply directly through Carollo's careers portal or find open roles on Migrate Mate, which filters Carollo's Software Engineering Manager listings by visa sponsorship type. Tailor your application to emphasize technical team leadership in engineering-adjacent contexts. Water, environmental, or infrastructure software experience will distinguish your profile from candidates with purely enterprise or product-focused backgrounds.
Which visa types does Carollo Engineers commonly sponsor for Software Engineering Manager positions?
Carollo sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for qualifying roles. Australian citizens should prioritize the E-3, which has no lottery and can be filed year-round. Canadian and Mexican nationals on TN status may also be eligible depending on how the role is classified.
What qualifications does Carollo Engineers expect for a Software Engineering Manager role?
Carollo typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline, combined with demonstrated experience managing software development teams. Because Carollo is an engineering consulting firm, familiarity with infrastructure-related platforms, GIS systems, or project-driven development environments is an advantage over purely product-focused management backgrounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Software Engineering Manager at Carollo Engineers?
Timeline depends on the visa type. E-3 and TN petitions can move within weeks if your documents are in order. H-1B cap-subject cases follow a fixed government calendar with an October 1 start date. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship under EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to three years from initiation, depending on your country of birth and DOL processing backlogs. Clarify which pathway applies before you accept an offer.
