Align your credentials to PE licensure pathways
Carollo Engineers values engineers progressing toward Professional Engineer licensure. Before applying, document your qualifying work experience and confirm your foreign degree's equivalency with a NACES-approved evaluator, since this directly supports both your visa petition and your PE application timeline.
Target offices with active water infrastructure projects
Carollo operates across regional offices tied to municipal water and wastewater clients. Research which offices are actively pursuing capital improvement programs in your discipline. Offices mid-project delivery hire Project Engineers with urgency, which shortens the gap between offer and sponsorship filing.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Ask the recruiter explicitly whether the offer includes both H-1B filing and Green Card sponsorship through PERM. Some engineering firms sponsor the work visa but delay or exclude immigrant visa sponsorship. Getting clarity early prevents a costly status gap later in your career.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Project Engineer roles
Carollo posts Project Engineer openings across multiple locations and disciplines simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by visa type and identify which positions are actively open for sponsored candidates, so you apply to the right openings rather than chasing postings that don't support your status.
Prepare for technical screening on water systems design
Carollo's Project Engineer interviews typically assess applied knowledge of hydraulic modeling, treatment process design, or infrastructure rehab depending on the practice area. Align your resume and preparation to the specific discipline listed, not just general civil engineering, since their teams are specialized by water sector.
Understand your OPT or grace period timing relative to offer timelines
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorization end date against Carollo's typical onboarding timeline. USCIS requires H-1B petitions to be filed before OPT expires, and the standard cap-subject H-1B has an October 1 start date, so misaligned timing can leave you without valid status.

Find Project Engineer at Carollo Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Carollo Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Yes, Carollo Engineers sponsors H-1B visas for Project Engineer roles. The company has a consistent pattern of filing across engineering disciplines, particularly in water and wastewater infrastructure. If you're a cap-subject candidate, the petition would need to clear the annual H-1B lottery, so timing your application cycle to align with the April filing window is important.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Engineer roles at Carollo Engineers?
Carollo sponsors across several visa categories relevant to engineers. H-1B is the most common path for candidates already in the U.S. or transferring status. E-3 is available for Australian citizens and follows a simpler process with no lottery. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA. For longer-term pathways, Carollo also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at Carollo Engineers?
You can browse and apply for Project Engineer openings at Carollo Engineers directly through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that match your authorization needs. Carollo typically recruits for Project Engineers by regional office and technical discipline, so reviewing the role description carefully before applying helps you target the right fit.
What qualifications are expected for a Project Engineer role at Carollo Engineers?
Carollo typically looks for a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering, with a preference for candidates working toward or holding Professional Engineer licensure. Relevant experience in water or wastewater infrastructure design is a strong differentiator. For visa sponsorship purposes, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which the required degree field and technical scope generally satisfy.
How do I navigate the visa filing timeline after receiving an offer from Carollo Engineers?
The timeline depends on your current status. F-1 OPT holders need to ensure H-1B filing happens before their authorization expires, with an October 1 start date under the standard cap. TN and E-3 holders can transfer to a new employer more directly. For PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, the process typically begins after you're established in the role, and DOL labor certification processing can take over a year.
