Align your credentials to PE licensure expectations
Carollo's Engineering Manager roles typically require or strongly prefer a Professional Engineer license. If your credentials were earned outside the U.S., initiate the foreign credential evaluation through NCEES before you apply so your eligibility is clear from the first conversation.
Target Carollo's water and wastewater project verticals
Carollo specializes in water, wastewater, and reuse infrastructure. Framing your management experience around municipal or utility-scale water projects, rather than general civil or environmental work, puts your application in direct alignment with the roles they hire managers into most consistently.
Search open Engineering Manager roles using Migrate Mate
Carollo posts Engineering Manager openings across multiple offices and practice areas. Use Migrate Mate to filter active roles at Carollo by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, not guessing from the job description.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
Carollo sponsors several visa types including H-1B, E-3, TN, and Green Card pathways. Knowing which category fits your nationality and status before salary negotiations lets you ask informed questions about timing, and avoids surprises when HR initiates the DOL Labor Condition Application process.
Prepare for a multi-round technical and leadership interview process
Engineering Manager candidates at consulting firms like Carollo are evaluated on both project delivery experience and client-facing leadership. Have specific examples ready of managing multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure programs, as behavioral rounds carry significant weight alongside technical screening.
Understand the PERM timeline if you need a Green Card
If your long-term goal is permanent residence, ask early whether Carollo will support EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship. PERM recruitment and DOL audit resolution can take 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the I-140 petition, so starting that conversation at offer stage matters.

Does Carollo Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Managers?
Yes, Carollo Engineers sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Manager roles. As a consulting firm that hires specialized water and environmental engineers, Carollo has an established process for working with immigration counsel on H-1B filings. Because H-1B cap-subject slots are decided by lottery each April, timing your offer and filing relative to the USCIS registration window is critical if you're not already in H-1B status.
How do I apply for Engineering Manager jobs at Carollo Engineers?
Applications go through Carollo's careers portal, where roles are listed by office location and practice area. Engineering Manager positions appear under water, wastewater, recycled water, and program management divisions. Browsing through Migrate Mate lets you filter Carollo's open roles specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can identify which postings are actively open to international candidates before submitting your application.
Which visa types does Carollo Engineers commonly use for Engineering Manager positions?
Carollo sponsors multiple visa categories for this role, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA, and F-1 OPT or CPT for recent graduates transitioning into full-time roles. For longer-term employees, Carollo also supports EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Carollo Engineers expect for Engineering Manager roles?
Most Engineering Manager openings at Carollo require a bachelor's or master's degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering, along with substantial project management experience in water or wastewater infrastructure. A Professional Engineer license is frequently listed as required or preferred. Candidates with experience managing multidisciplinary teams on municipal utility projects are consistently competitive for these roles.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process typically take at Carollo Engineers?
From offer acceptance to visa approval, timelines vary by category. An E-3 or TN can be processed in weeks, while an H-1B cap-subject case tied to the April lottery adds several months of lead time before an October 1 start date. Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL labor certification, which takes 12 to 18 months on average before USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition.
