Tailor Your Resume to Engineering Software Contexts
Carollo's Software Engineer roles often support environmental and infrastructure projects, not pure product development. Highlight experience with data pipelines, GIS integrations, or engineering analysis tools to align with their consulting workflows before you apply.
Confirm Sponsorship Willingness Before Final Interviews
Consulting firms sometimes sponsor selectively by seniority or project need. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific role you're interviewing for is approved for sponsorship, so you're not discovering eligibility questions at the offer stage.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Documentation Package Early
For H-1B filing, your employer's attorney will need evidence that the Software Engineer role requires a specific bachelor's degree. Gather your degree certificates, transcripts, and any credential evaluation reports in advance to avoid delays at filing time.
Search Carollo's Open Roles by Engineering Domain
Use Migrate Mate to filter Software Engineer openings at Carollo Engineers by visa type, so you can identify which roles align with your sponsorship eligibility before investing time in the application process.
Account for PERM Labor Certification in Green Card Planning
If Carollo sponsors you on an H-1B and later pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the DOL PERM process typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the immigrant petition. Factor that timeline into any long-term career conversation with your hiring manager.

Find Software Engineer at Carollo Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Carollo Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Carollo Engineers sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. The company operates in consulting and professional services, where project-specific technical needs often justify sponsorship for specialized candidates. If you're applying as an H-1B holder or new graduate on OPT, confirm with the recruiter that the specific role you're targeting is included in their sponsorship approvals for that hiring cycle.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Carollo Engineers?
You can browse current Software Engineer openings at Carollo Engineers directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility. When you apply, tailor your materials to the engineering domain the role supports, whether that's water infrastructure, environmental systems, or data platforms. Follow up with the recruiter to confirm the role's sponsorship status before your first interview.
Which visa types does Carollo Engineers commonly use for Software Engineer roles?
Carollo Engineers sponsors several visa categories for Software Engineers, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, the company has filed EB-2 and EB-3 petitions. J-1 sponsorship is also available in select circumstances, typically for training or research-adjacent roles.
What qualifications does Carollo Engineers expect from Software Engineer candidates who need sponsorship?
Carollo typically looks for a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. For roles supporting environmental or water infrastructure projects, experience with data integration, cloud platforms, or engineering software systems is valued over pure product development backgrounds. For H-1B purposes, the degree must align specifically with the role, so a general business or unrelated technical degree is unlikely to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Software Engineer starting at Carollo Engineers?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa type. H-1B sponsorship is subject to the annual lottery, with employment start dates locked to October 1 of the fiscal year. E-3 and TN visas move faster and can often be processed in a few weeks through consular channels. If Carollo is sponsoring a Green Card through PERM, the DOL labor certification phase alone typically runs 12 to 18 months before the immigrant petition reaches USCIS.
