Frame your credentials around strategic sourcing
CEMEX's Procurement function leans on supplier relationship management and category strategy, not just transactional buying. Before applying, position your resume around cost reduction outcomes, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional projects in industrial or materials-heavy environments.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Procurement roles
CEMEX posts Procurement openings across multiple regions and business units, and they don't all appear at the same time. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track CEMEX Procurement listings so you're applying when roles are live, not after they've closed.
Approach CEMEX's PERM timeline with realistic expectations
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 involves DOL's PERM labor certification, which can take well over a year before USCIS even receives the I-140. Align your conversations with your hiring manager to this timeline early, not after you've already accepted an offer.
Prepare for specialty occupation questions upfront
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires Procurement roles to qualify as specialty occupations, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or business. Have your official transcripts and any relevant degree equivalency documentation ready before your employer initiates the I-129 filing.
Verify your I-9 eligibility through E-Verify early
CEMEX participates in E-Verify, so your work authorization status is confirmed immediately at hire. If you're transitioning between OPT and H-1B cap-gap, confirm your I-94 dates and EAD validity before your start date to avoid any authorization gap on the employer's end.

Find Procurement at CEMEX JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CEMEX sponsor H-1B visas for Procurement roles?
Yes, CEMEX sponsors H-1B visas for Procurement positions. The key requirement is that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning it must require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, engineering, or business. Roles with generalist or managerial framing can face additional scrutiny, so the specific job description matters.
How do I apply for Procurement jobs at CEMEX?
Applications go through CEMEX's careers portal, where Procurement roles are posted by location and business unit. Because openings are spread across regions and don't all post simultaneously, using Migrate Mate to track and filter CEMEX Procurement listings helps you catch roles when they go live. Tailor your application to highlight supply chain outcomes specific to industrial or materials sectors.
Which visa types does CEMEX commonly use for Procurement positions?
CEMEX has sponsored H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Procurement roles. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering sourcing or supply chain analyst roles, with H-1B sponsorship often following for strong performers.
What qualifications does CEMEX expect for Procurement roles?
CEMEX typically looks for candidates with a degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business, or a related field. Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, or category management within chemicals, construction materials, or heavy industry carries significant weight. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, your degree must align directly with the responsibilities of the posted role.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a CEMEX Procurement role?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, the annual cap registration window runs in March for an October 1 start, so timing your offer and hiring process accordingly matters. For OPT, confirm your remaining authorization period covers onboarding. Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL and USCIS processing that typically spans multiple years, so start that conversation with your manager well before your nonimmigrant status requires it.
