Align Your Degree to CPA Requirements
CohnReznick expects Tax Analyst candidates to be on a CPA track. Make sure your transcripts reflect 150 credit hours or a pathway to meet them, since this credential gap can stall sponsorship conversations before they start.
Target the Campus Recruiting Pipeline
CohnReznick fills most entry-level Tax Analyst seats through campus recruiting cycles in the fall. Applying directly through your university career portal before October gives you the best shot at roles that budget for visa sponsorship from day one.
Clarify Your Visa Type Before the Offer
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm with HR whether the role qualifies for STEM OPT extension, which gives you up to three years of work authorization before needing H-1B sponsorship. Getting this wrong wastes runway you cannot recover.
Understand CohnReznick's H-1B Filing Window
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start date. If you receive a Tax Analyst offer in the spring, ask HR immediately whether they plan to file in the current or next cycle so you can plan your OPT end date accordingly.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsored Tax Roles
Search Migrate Mate to browse Tax Analyst openings at CohnReznick filtered by visa type. The platform surfaces roles where sponsorship has been confirmed, saving you the guesswork of reaching out to firms that won't file.
Prepare Your Tax Technology Skills Proactively
CohnReznick uses tools like CCH Axcess and GoSystem Tax RS across its tax practice. Demonstrating hands-on familiarity with these platforms in your application positions you as a lower-risk hire for a team that needs to justify sponsorship costs internally.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CohnReznick sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Analysts?
Yes, CohnReznick sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Analyst roles. Sponsorship is most commonly offered to candidates already working on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT who have demonstrated performance in the role. The firm files H-1B petitions through the USCIS annual lottery, with registrations submitted each March for an October 1 start date. Confirming sponsorship intent early in the offer process is strongly recommended.
How do I apply for Tax Analyst jobs at CohnReznick?
You can apply directly through CohnReznick's careers page or through your university's campus recruiting portal if you're a current student or recent graduate. For international candidates, Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find and filter Tax Analyst openings at CohnReznick by visa type, so you only pursue roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Which visa types does CohnReznick commonly sponsor for Tax Analyst positions?
CohnReznick sponsors several visa categories for Tax Analyst roles, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in their final year or recent graduates. J-1 visa sponsorship is less common for permanent analyst roles but may apply to internship or training positions within the firm.
What qualifications does CohnReznick expect for Tax Analyst candidates seeking sponsorship?
CohnReznick expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. Candidates should be on a CPA track and meet or be working toward the 150 credit-hour requirement. Familiarity with tax compliance workflows and software platforms commonly used in public accounting is expected. Internship experience at a regional or national accounting firm strengthens your profile considerably.
How do I time my application to maximize my chances of H-1B sponsorship at CohnReznick?
The most reliable path is to secure a Tax Analyst offer before your F-1 OPT expires, then begin the H-1B process during the March USCIS registration window. STEM OPT can extend your work authorization by up to 24 months, giving you additional time if you miss one lottery cycle. Communicate your visa timeline clearly to your HR contact from the offer stage onward.
