Align your credentials with LCA-filed specializations
CohnReznick files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL for specific job titles and prevailing wage levels. Review LCA disclosure data to identify which Tax Professional specializations they sponsor most, then tailor your resume to match those exact role titles.
Target offices in high-hiring metro markets
CohnReznick concentrates Tax Professional hiring in major markets like New York, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. Applying to offices with established practice groups in your tax specialty improves your odds of landing a role with sponsorship attached.
Clarify your visa type before the first interview
CohnReznick sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. Identify which category fits your situation before outreach so you can address it plainly when recruiters ask, rather than leaving eligibility ambiguous late in the process.
Time your applications around H-1B cap deadlines
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, with an April 1 start date for cap-subject petitions. If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, you need an offer in hand no later than February to give CohnReznick time to file.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Tax Professional roles by visa type
Not every Tax Professional posting at CohnReznick comes with sponsorship attached to the listing. Search CohnReznick's Tax Professional openings on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where the firm has sponsored your visa category before.
Prepare your credential equivalency documentation early
For H-1B and E-3 filings, USCIS requires that your degree directly relates to the Tax Professional role. If your accounting degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before CohnReznick's immigration counsel begins drafting the petition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CohnReznick sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Professionals?
Yes, CohnReznick sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Professional roles. The firm works with immigration counsel to file cap-subject and cap-exempt petitions depending on the candidate's situation. If you're subject to the annual H-1B lottery, you'll need an offer confirmed before the March registration window opens so the firm can submit your registration on time.
Which visa types does CohnReznick sponsor for Tax Professional roles?
CohnReznick sponsors several visa categories for Tax Professionals, including H-1B, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting roles, J-1 visa for exchange visitors, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing practical training. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does CohnReznick expect for Tax Professional roles?
CohnReznick typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a closely related field for Tax Professional positions. Many roles expect or prefer CPA licensure or active progress toward it. Specialty tax experience in areas like international tax, partnership taxation, or state and local tax strengthens your candidacy, particularly at the senior associate level and above.
How do I apply for Tax Professional jobs at CohnReznick?
You can browse and apply for Tax Professional openings at CohnReznick directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship history so you can confirm the position is relevant to your situation before applying. Tailor your resume to reflect the specific tax specialty the role targets and be prepared to discuss your visa status early in the recruiter screen.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at CohnReznick?
The timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B, you need an offer before March for the same-year lottery. E-3 and TN processing moves faster and can often be handled within a few weeks once you have an offer. For F-1 OPT, USCIS recommends applying at least 90 days before your program end date, so plan backwards from your graduation or CPT end date accordingly.
