Align Your Credentials With CohnReznick's Standards
CohnReznick expects Bookkeeper candidates to demonstrate proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency before applying so your qualifications are immediately legible to their hiring team.
Target Offices Where Accounting Roles Concentrate
CohnReznick operates across major metro markets including New York, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. Bookkeeper openings tend to cluster around offices serving high-volume client portfolios, so prioritize locations where the firm has a dense client base in your target industry vertical.
Search Sponsored Bookkeeper Roles Through Migrate Mate
Filter specifically for CohnReznick Bookkeeper listings on Migrate Mate to surface roles where visa sponsorship has been confirmed. This saves you from applying to postings where sponsorship eligibility is ambiguous or where the firm historically hires only domestic candidates for that specific position.
Clarify Your OPT or CPT Timeline Before Interviewing
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility and remaining authorized period before your first interview. CohnReznick needs enough runway to complete H-1B filing before your authorization lapses, so a tight OPT window can affect their decision to extend an offer.
Understand How the H-1B Lottery Affects Your Offer Timeline
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. If CohnReznick makes you an offer in winter or spring, your actual start date depends on lottery selection. Ask your recruiter whether they support cap-exempt alternatives or bridge employment arrangements while USCIS processes your petition.
Ask Directly About LCA Filing During the Offer Stage
Before signing an offer, confirm that CohnReznick's immigration team will file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying the prevailing wage for your specific office location. LCA approval is a required precondition for any H-1B or E-3 petition, and the wage level in the LCA must match your offered role.

Find Bookkeeper at CohnReznick JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does CohnReznick sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Yes, CohnReznick sponsors H-1B visas for Bookkeeper roles. The firm works with immigration counsel to file cap-subject petitions, which are tied to the April registration window and October 1 start date. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a transfer petition avoids the lottery entirely and can proceed year-round.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at CohnReznick?
Applications go through CohnReznick's careers portal on their website, where you can filter by role type and office location. You can also find their Bookkeeper openings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles specifically tagged for visa sponsorship so you can verify eligibility before investing time in the application process.
Which visa types does CohnReznick commonly use for Bookkeeper roles?
CohnReznick sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Bookkeeper positions. H-1B is the most common long-term path. E-3 is available to Australian citizens and processes faster with no lottery. TN covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting occupations. F-1 OPT is typically the entry point before transitioning to a longer-term category.
What qualifications does CohnReznick expect for a sponsored Bookkeeper role?
CohnReznick generally expects a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field for sponsored Bookkeeper positions, since H-1B and E-3 both require a qualifying specialty occupation degree. Hands-on experience with general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and accounting software like QuickBooks or NetSuite strengthens your application considerably.
How do I know if the Bookkeeper role I'm applying for is truly open to visa sponsorship?
Job postings don't always specify sponsorship eligibility, and assumptions can cost you weeks of effort. The most reliable approach is to ask the recruiter directly during the first screening call whether the specific role and office location support sponsorship for your visa category. Some CohnReznick offices have staffing structures that limit sponsorship for certain positions even when the firm sponsors broadly.
