Align Your Credentials With Intuit's Requirements
Intuit's Tax Professional roles typically require an active CPA, Enrolled Agent credential, or a law degree with tax focus. Confirm your credential is current and in good standing before applying, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation evidence closely for tax roles.
Target Seasonal Hiring Windows Strategically
Intuit ramps up Tax Professional hiring ahead of tax season, making late summer through early fall the highest-activity period. Applying during this window gives your candidacy more urgency and shortens the time between offer and sponsorship conversations.
Clarify Sponsorship Before the Final Interview Round
Intuit's recruiting process for Tax Professionals moves quickly. Raise your visa type and authorization timeline directly with the recruiter after your first interview clears, not at the offer stage, so the hiring team can loop in immigration counsel before paperwork begins.
Understand How OPT Cap-Gap Affects Your Start Date
If you're on F-1 OPT and your H-1B is filed by April 1, the cap-gap rule extends your work authorization through September 30. Confirm with your employer's immigration team that your OPT end date and I-20 are consistent before DOL certifies the Labor Condition Application.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Tax Professional Roles
Intuit posts Tax Professional openings across multiple locations, and availability shifts throughout the year. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Intuit Tax Professional roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare for a Skills-Based Screening Before Offer
Intuit's Tax Professional hiring typically includes a practical assessment covering federal and state tax scenarios before an offer is extended. Strong performance here directly influences whether the role is classified as a specialty occupation, which matters for H-1B petition approval.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Intuit sponsor H-1B visas for Tax Professionals?
Yes, Intuit sponsors H-1B visas for Tax Professional roles. These positions qualify as specialty occupations because they require a theoretical and practical application of tax law, typically demonstrated through a CPA, Enrolled Agent credential, or a relevant degree. Your employer files the H-1B petition with USCIS after the Labor Condition Application is certified by the DOL.
Which visa types does Intuit commonly sponsor for Tax Professional roles?
Intuit sponsors several visa categories for Tax Professionals, including H-1B, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Intuit also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and employment terms.
How do I apply for Tax Professional jobs at Intuit?
Start by browsing open Tax Professional positions at Intuit on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship availability so you can confirm sponsorship upfront. When you apply, highlight your active tax credentials prominently since Intuit's screening process moves quickly and credential verification happens early. Be ready for a technical tax assessment before the final interview stage.
What qualifications does Intuit expect for Tax Professional roles?
Intuit's Tax Professional roles generally require an active credential such as a CPA license, Enrolled Agent status, or a J.D. with tax concentration. Practical experience preparing individual or business returns is expected, not just theoretical knowledge. Some roles also require familiarity with state tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions, which reflects the scope of Intuit's TurboTax and professional software products.
How do I think about timing when targeting a Tax Professional role at Intuit with visa sponsorship?
Timing matters for two reasons. Intuit's Tax Professional hiring peaks in the late summer and early fall ahead of tax season, which is your best window for availability. If you're targeting an H-1B, your employer must file by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Starting the application process at least four to six months before your current work authorization expires gives the immigration team enough runway.
